Incheon City Launches Full-Scale “Neulbom School Program” to Fill After-School Care Gap

The City of Incheon announced the full-scale launch of its “Neulbom School Program,” aimed at minimizing after-school care gaps for elementary students through collaboration with local universities.

In particular, Incheon was selected in February as an outstanding local government in the Ministry of Education’s “Neulbom School Support Project,” and will receive a national incentive of 4.3 billion annually for the next five years.

The city plans to implement the program with a total budget of 5.3 billion, including the national subsidy.







Incheon’s Namdong Water Purification Plant to Temporarily Halt Operations from June 17 for Maintenance—Tap Water Supply to Continue Normally


The Incheon Metropolitan City Waterworks Division announced that the Namdong Water Purification Plant will be temporarily shut down from June 17 to 20 for replacement of intake valves and cleaning of the absorption well.

The shutdown will last from 10 a.m. on June 17 to 10 a.m. on June 20. During this period, alternative water supply will be provided via a phased water source conversion from the Bupyeong, Gongchon, and Susan purification plants.

To ensure a stable water supply, the division will operate an emergency water supply control center during the shutdown period and is committed to completing the maintenance work swiftly and efficiently.







Incheon Selects Four Open Innovation Projects to Drive Tourism Industry Innovation


The City of Incheon and the Incheon Tourism Organization announced the final selection of four projects under the “2025 Incheon Tourism Open Innovation” initiative to drive innovation in the city’s tourism sector.

Now in its third year, the Open Innovation program supports pilot projects linked to tourism facilities and the development of innovative service models to enhance Incheon’s tourism competitiveness while promoting co-growth with small and medium-sized enterprises.

Over the next six months, the city will provide the selected companies with a real-world testing environment, as well as expert mentoring, promotional support, and marketing assistance to help their ideas move toward commercialization.






Incheon to Host Agricultural Specialty Market “Incheon Jangteo” for Two Days Starting June 14


The City of Incheon announced it will host the “2025 Incheon Jangteo,” a special marketplace for local agricultural and specialty products, from June 14 to 15 at the Wave Hall in the Sangsang Platform.

The event aims to help local farmers expand sales channels and to offer citizens high-quality agricultural products at reasonable prices.

A total of 29 vendor booths will be set up, showcasing a wide variety of goods including regional specialties from Ganghwa and other areas of Incheon, along with fresh produce, livestock products, dried goods, and seafood such as shrimp paste.








Incheon Begins First Shipment of Summer Flowers from Mansu Nursery


The Geyang Park Management Office of Incheon announced the first shipment of 131,200 summer flower seedlings produced at the Mansu nursery.

The flowers, including five summer species such as melampodium, were directly sown and cultivated at the nursery starting in March. This marks the first shipment since the nursery was equipped with a smart automation system.

A representative from the Geyang Park Management Office stated, “We will continue to supply high-quality seasonal flowers to bring the beauty of each season to our citizens.”







Incheon Customs to Inspect Imported Summer Leisure Products Ahead of Vacation Season


Incheon Main Customs announced it will conduct intensive inspections of imported summer leisure goods through August 10 in preparation for the vacation season.

The inspections will target 14 items, including swimsuits, float tubes, life vests, and electric insect repellents, which are commonly used for water activities and camping.

Customs authorities expect an increase in imports of these goods during the summer and will focus on identifying violations related to safety certifications, proper labeling of origin, trademark infringements, and item classifications.







Incheon Office of Education Receives Ministerial Award for Records Management


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it received a Ministerial Commendation in the “2025 National Records Management Awards” organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, in recognition of its contributions to advancing national records management.

The award honors individuals and institutions that have made significant contributions to the field, including those that performed well in institutional records management evaluations and helped develop national records management policies.

The Incheon Office of Education ranked first nationwide in the records management evaluation conducted by the National Archives of Korea, demonstrating excellence across all areas of records management.







Cheongna Lake Library Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Cultural Events


Cheongna Lake Library, a branch of Michuhol Library in Incheon, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this June with a month-long series of events open to the public.

The events are designed to express gratitude for the continued support of citizens and to reaffirm the library’s role as a cultural hub within the local community.
