Incheon opens 2nd University Startup Academy to support young entrepreneurs


The Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the 2nd Incheon University Startup Academy officially opened on June 24 at the POSCO Global R&D Center in Songdo. The program aims to strengthen business skills of local university students.

Hosted by the city and jointly organized by Incheon Technopark, the Incheon Global Campus Foundation, and 13 local universities, the academy is part of the “University-led Youth Startup Platform” project.

During the first stage of the program, a startup camp is being held from June 24 to 27. Participants will work on startup ideas under the theme “Improving the Quality of Life for Incheon Citizens,” and top-performing teams will be selected for further support






Incheon’s Juan and Bupyeong National Industrial Complexes selected for youth-friendly factory renewal project


The Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the Juan and Bupyeong National Industrial Complexes have been selected for the “Youth-Friendly Factory Renewal Project” under the third round of the 2025 Industrial Complex Environment Improvement Program, hosted by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.

The project aims to improve the internal and external conditions of small and medium-sized factories and create youth-friendly work environments to attract more young workers to industrial complexes.

A total of 700 million won will be invested, including 400 million won in national funding. Incheon plans to complete the project by June 2026.






Incheon launches emoji contest to promote suicide prevention awareness


The Incheon Metropolitan City Government is holding a citizen-participation emoji contest to raise awareness of suicide prevention and promote a culture of respect for life.

The contest encourages citizens to create and share emoji designs that express messages of love for life. It aims to enhance public awareness of suicide prevention and build a life-respecting culture centered on the community.

Participants are invited to submit a set of 24 emoji designs using “Deuni & Narae,” the characters of the Incheon Suicide Prevention Center, with messages that promote life and emotional support.





Incheon invites citizens to enjoy hydrangeas in bloom at Wolmi Park’s healing trail


Wolmi Park in Incheon is offering a special walking experience called “Healing Walk with Hydrangeas,” which runs until July, during the peak hydrangea season.

The park’s trail, known for offering both forest scenery and sea views, is lined with more than 10,000 hydrangea plants, making it one of the city’s signature summer walking destinations.

A 2.3-kilometer section of the trail has been paved with natural soil to create a more eco-friendly path, which has received positive feedback from visitors.





Songam Art Museum in Incheon opens special fan exhibition titled ‘Three Winds of the Fan’


The Songam Art Museum in Incheon announced the opening of a special exhibition titled Three Winds of the Fan, running from June 24 to December 14.

The exhibition explores the function and symbolism of fans through three themes: life, ideals, and personal taste.

It features around 90 artifacts, offering a glimpse into the artistic beauty and cultural significance of fans across time.





Incheon City Museum launches 2025 artifact acquisition program.


The Incheon City Museum will accept applications for the sale of cultural artifacts from June 26 to July 2 as part of its 2025 acquisition program.

The effort aims to preserve and carry forward Incheon’s cultural heritage. Individuals, cultural asset dealers, corporations, and organizations holding relevant artifacts are all eligible to apply.

All submissions will undergo an initial document review, followed by expert evaluation to determine final selection for purchase.
