Youth Korea-China Cultural Tour Program at Incheon Open Port Successfully Concludes
Incheon City announced yesterday that it successfully completed the “InChina Road: Korea-China Cultural Tour in Incheon” program, which was joined by 20 university students and young participants.
The program was held in connection with the “2025 InChina Forum International Conference” and involved exploring the Incheon Open Port area, which reflects the history and culture of modern Korea-China exchanges, to revisit its significance and share experiences online with audiences in and outside Korea.
Co-hosted by Incheon City and the Chinese Embassy in Korea, the “2025 InChina Forum International Conference” will be held on September 2 at Songdo Convensia under the theme “An Era of Transition: The World and Korea-China Relations.”
Incheon to Hold Three-Generation Family-Friendly Filial Piety Project
Incheon City announced it will run the “Three-Generation Family-Friendly HYO (Filial Piety) Project” in September and October to promote family-friendly values and a culture of filial respect, targeting families where parents, children, and grandchildren live together.
The project is being launched for the first time this year to discover such families amid a rise in single-person households and nuclear families, and to spread awareness of filial piety and respect for elders.
Families wishing to join can download the application form and consent form from the notice board on the Incheon Filial Piety Promotion Support Center website and submit them with a copy of their resident registration by email by 6 p.m. on August 29.
Incheon Holds “Chemical Accident Response Training” for Community Leaders
Incheon City announced it held “Chemical Accident Response Training” today at the Gajwa 4-dong Community Service Center in Seo-gu for about 25 local community leaders.
The training was arranged to strengthen local response capacity for chemical accidents that could occur near industrial complexes or urban areas, and to improve the ability of passbook—key first responders—to act safely.
The city focused on the roles passbook should take in a chemical accident, and also shared a tailored manual to help them quickly evacuate residents and accurately report the situation to relevant agencies in emergencies.
Incheon Cultural Foundation Opens 2025 Audiobook Production and Distribution Support Program
The Incheon Cultural Foundation will run the “2025 Audiobook Production and Distribution Support Program” to support diverse works by Incheon literary artists and boost distribution.
This call is open to literary artists living in Incheon who have previously been selected for a foundation support program, and it funds the production and distribution of audiobooks based on books they have published.
Audiobooks will be produced by professional companies in recordings of around one hour, and only books issued an ISBN and classified as “publications” under Article 2 of the Publishing Industry Promotion Act and Article 3 of its Enforcement Decree are eligible.

Mayor Yoo Jeongbok of Incheon highlighted how greater participation of women in the economy has contributed to Incheon’s growth, introducing successful policy cases at the 2025 APEC Women and the Economy Forum held at Songdo Convensia.
He welcomed minister-level delegations from the 21 APEC member economies in the women’s sector and stressed the importance of women’s roles in responding to demographic changes and digital transformation.
Mayor Yoo presented Incheon’s flagship policies, “i+ 100 Million Dream” and “1,000 Won Housing,” as best practices, emphasizing that the city is successfully addressing contemporary challenges through policies for women and families.
Incheon to Fully Adjust 22 Designated Cultural Heritage Zones for the First Time in 10 Years
Incheon will fully adjust the protection zones of its designated cultural heritage for the first time in a decade, expanding the boundary of Munhak Fortress from Munhak-dong to Hakik-dong and Yeonsu-dong.
According to the city, it began a review of the suitability of 113 city-designated heritage sites last November and is now setting new boundaries for 22 sites as part of the regular maintenance process required under the Cultural Heritage Protection Act.
The city plans to reset the boundaries by analyzing changes in land use, administrative borders, and relic distribution. It also expects to resolve past discrepancies between old boundaries and actual land borders by applying advanced surveying technology and updated cadastral maps.
Incheon Opens Work-Life Balance Support Center to Lead as a “Work-Life City”
Incheon opened the Work-Life Balance Support Center yesterday at the Incheon Women and Family Foundation in Galsan-dong, Bupyeong-gu, and began operations.
Located on the first floor of the foundation’s annex, the center aims to help residents balance work and life through various policies.
It will provide family-friendly certification consulting and workplace training, support for introducing work-life balance systems, policy promotion, and public campaigns.
Seosomun Overpass Demolition from the 17th… 20 Intercity Bus Routes to be Rerouted
Seoul announced that bus detours will begin at midnight on the 17th when traffic control starts for the demolition and reconstruction of the Seosomun Overpass.
The overpass, rated “D” for safety, will be removed for public safety.
From midnight on the 17th, one lane from City Hall to Chungjeongno will close, and 20 intercity bus routes—9 from Gyeonggi-do and 11 from Incheon—will be rerouted first.
