Incheon City Selected for Final Stage of ‘EU International Joint Research DUT Project’


Incheon Metropolitan City will join major European cities in international joint research for a “future-oriented living area urban plan.”

The study will design a customized living area model that reflects Incheon’s unique urban structure and citizens’ living patterns, allowing access to key daily facilities within minutes on foot or by public transport.

As a local government, Incheon will participate in the project with Seoul National University, University of Incheon, George Mason University Korea, Hyundai Motor Company, and Site Planning.

In the call for projects, 254 teams worldwide participated, and 47 teams in three fields were finally selected.






Recruitment of Trainees for 2025 Incheon Women’s Leadership Academy Culture and Arts Program


Incheon Metropolitan City, together with Inha University Lifelong Education Center, will recruit trainees for the “2025 Incheon Women’s Leadership Academy” to discover and nurture capable female leaders for the city’s future.

This program focuses on culture and arts, aiming to expand trainees’ sensitivity and cultural understanding through various artistic experiences.

The curriculum includes classical music, art creation, talk concerts with vocalists and pianists, and other activities, providing women with opportunities to enjoy culture.






10th Munhaksan Music Concert: A Night of Peaceful Melodies Under the Stars


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the 10th Munhaksan Music Concert, hosted by the city and organized by Kyungin Broadcasting, will be held at the top of Munhaksan Mountain on September 6 at 7 p.m.

Under the theme “Peaceful Melodies Beneath the Stars of Munhaksan,” the concert is the only classical mountain-top music event in the nation, held at a site with a panoramic night view of Incheon.

This year’s performance will be held as a pre-event of the 75th Incheon Landing Operation anniversary. It will highlight the meaning of September 15 and share Incheon’s status as an international peace city with citizens.






Photo Exhibition <Books+Photos, Capturing Daily Life> Opens at Incheon City Hall Station Open Museum


The Incheon Metropolitan City Museum announced that it will host the special exhibition “Songam Braille Library Reading Culture Program <Books+Photos, Capturing Daily Life> Photo Exhibition” at the Open Museum inside Incheon Subway Line 1 City Hall Station from August 18 to 29.

The exhibition presents works from the program “Books+Photos, Capturing Daily Life,” operated by the Songam Braille Library and selected for the 2025 National Library for the Disabled Reading Culture Program Support Project.

It will be held on the third basement level near exits 1 and 9 of City Hall Station and is open free of charge during subway operating hours.






Incheon seeks candidates for the 43rd Cultural Award


Incheon City will accept recommendations for the 43rd Cultural Award from August 18 to September 26.

The award honors citizens who have made major contributions to local culture and community growth. It is given in nine fields: scholarship, literature, fine arts, performing arts, traditional arts, cultural content, tourism, sports, and media.

Winners must have made clear contributions to local culture and arts, have lived in Incheon for at least three years as of the notice date, or have lived three years in Incheon while spreading its name through activities elsewhere.






Incheon Education Office tests ‘Student Record Online Service’


The Incheon Office of Education said it will pilot the ‘Student Record Online Service’ at 56 schools starting today to improve safety at all-day schools.

The service will collect and manage each child’s participation and return-home records online to reduce paperwork and make information easier to check.

Parents can enter return-home details and sign electronically through a survey link sent by mobile message, and all data will be safely managed with security measures.





Ganghwa to build 18-hole park golf course


Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, said it held a meeting with residents on August 13 about its plan to build a park golf course.

Park golf is a simple sport using short clubs and large balls on small courses. It is easy for all ages to learn.

Ganghwa-gun will build the facility for healthy leisure. With a budget of 3 billion, it will build an 18-hole course on 21,463 m² of land. A design study is under way.






Ongjin promotes health checks for medical aid recipients


Ongjin-gun, Incheon, said on August 17 it will start promotions to raise health check rates for medical aid recipients. It will hand out leaflets and make phone calls.

Health checks for aid recipients follow national rules, covering infant checks, general checks, and life-cycle checks.

In 2025, eligible people are aid recipients aged 20–64 born in odd years. They can get free checks at any approved medical center nationwide.
