Incheon City to hold ‘2025 Ulchi Exercise’ from August 18–21


Incheon City said it will hold the ‘2025 Ulchi Exercise’ at City Hall from August 18 to 21.

About 3,800 people from more than 60 groups will join, including the city government, city agencies, related organizations, military units, police, fire services, key companies, and public facilities.

The Ulchi Exercise is a yearly drill to protect citizens’ lives and property in case of war, conflict, or a similar national emergency.






Incheon speeds up effort to designate ‘Sorae Salt Field National Urban Park’


Incheon City said it is moving faster to designate the Sorae Wetland area, the last large tidal flat on the west coast near Seoul and the birthplace of the salt culture, as a national urban park.

On August 4, a law change expanded the rules and funding for national urban park designation.

The city plans to use this chance to push for the ‘Sorae Salt Field National Urban Park,’ covering about 6 million m² that includes Sorae Wetland, Haeoreum Park, Ramsar Wetland, and Jangdo Fortress.






Incheon seeks candidates for the 43rd Cultural Award


Incheon City will accept recommendations for the 43rd Cultural Award from August 18 to September 26.

The award honors citizens who have made major contributions to local culture and community growth. It is given in nine fields: scholarship, literature, fine arts, performing arts, traditional arts, cultural content, tourism, sports, and media.

Winners must have made clear contributions to local culture and arts, have lived in Incheon for at least three years as of the notice date, or have lived three years in Incheon while spreading its name through activities elsewhere.






Incheon Education Office tests ‘Student Record Online Service’


The Incheon Office of Education said it will pilot the ‘Student Record Online Service’ at 56 schools starting today to improve safety at all-day schools.

The service will collect and manage each child’s participation and return-home records online to reduce paperwork and make information easier to check.

Parents can enter return-home details and sign electronically through a survey link sent by mobile message, and all data will be safely managed with security measures.





Ganghwa to build 18-hole park golf course


Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, said it held a meeting with residents on August 13 about its plan to build a park golf course.

Park golf is a simple sport using short clubs and large balls on small courses. It is easy for all ages to learn.

Ganghwa-gun will build the facility for healthy leisure. With a budget of 3 billion, it will build an 18-hole course on 21,463 m² of land. A design study is under way.






Ongjin promotes health checks for medical aid recipients


Ongjin-gun, Incheon, said on August 17 it will start promotions to raise health check rates for medical aid recipients. It will hand out leaflets and make phone calls.

Health checks for aid recipients follow national rules, covering infant checks, general checks, and life-cycle checks.

In 2025, eligible people are aid recipients aged 20–64 born in odd years. They can get free checks at any approved medical center nationwide.





Incheon Waterworks launches new online service site


Incheon’s Waterworks Office said it has renewed its Cyber Civil Service Center website to make it easier for citizens to use.

The update focused on convenience and access so anyone can find and apply for services more easily.

Now even first-time visitors can request the service they want quickly.






Incheon’s Gyeyang-gu to recruit new ‘Good Price Stores’


Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, will recruit new ‘Good Price Stores’ to help keep local prices stable.

The district said on the 17th that Good Price Stores offer low prices and good service, and are chosen after a review of price, cleanliness, and public value.

Eligible businesses are personal or corporate service shops such as restaurants, hair salons, and laundries. Applications are open from August 18 to September 19 through the district office by visit, fax, or email.
