Incheon signs MOU with General Douglas MacArthur Foundation for mutual exchange


The Incheon Metropolitan City announced yesterday, the 16th, that it signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Douglas MacArthur Foundation to mark the 75th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation.

The agreement includes joint projects commemorating the Incheon Landing, the development and exchange of public-private programs to strengthen the Korea-U.S. alliance and promote freedom and peace, and academic, cultural, and educational exchanges including joint forums.

Established in 1962, the foundation honors the life and achievements of General Douglas MacArthur and carries on his values of “duty, honor, and country.”





Incheon’s smart tourism app ‘Incheon Easy’ gains recognition as essential for travel


The Incheon Metropolitan City’s smart tourism platform “Incheon Easy” has recently won two awards, proving its innovation and excellence, and is now regarded as an essential application for travelers in Incheon. 

Since its launch in 2021, the app has provided integrated services that combine daily life and tourism. Starting in October, it will introduce a new book and literature-based cultural tourism service. 

More than just offering information, the app helps users design their own trips. Its mascot “Easykku” guides users like a friendly travel companion.






Incheon Culture and Arts Center reopens with advanced facilities


The Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the Incheon Culture and Arts Center in Guwol-dong, Namdong-gu, will fully reopen on October 1 following remodeling work.

The city began major renovations last January, investing 48.4 billion won to upgrade the facility, which first opened in 1994.

The exhibition hall and small theater reopened in April, and with the reopening of the main theater next month, the renovation project will be complete.

A commemorative performance by the city’s dance company and choir will be held in the main theater on October 1.






Incheon Student Education and Culture Center holds exhibition marking 80 years of division


The Incheon Student Education and Culture Center will host an exhibition to highlight the value of peace through art, marking 80 years of division on the Korean Peninsula.

The exhibition, titled "80 Years of Division, 80 Artists Portray the Korean Peninsula’s Path to Peace — Peace of Joy" will run from September 17 to October 1 at the Gaon Gallery.

The center hopes the exhibition will serve not only as an art appreciation event but also as an opportunity for citizens to reflect on history and explore possibilities for peace and coexistence.






Yeonsu Library recruits participants for multicultural awareness workshop


Yeonsu Library is recruiting participants for a multicultural awareness workshop scheduled for September 24 from 10 to 11 a.m.

The workshop, titled “Learning Diversity and Citizenship through Understanding Students with Migrant Backgrounds,” is designed to respond to the increasing multicultural population in Yeonsu-gu by promoting cultural diversity and proper perspectives on immigrants.

The lecture will share field experiences and case studies from teaching multicultural students and discuss attitudes for global citizenship and coexistence.





Ganghwa-gun completes Jumundo public sewerage project


Ganghwa-gun in Incheon announced that it has completed the Jumundo village sewerage improvement project and will begin operating the public wastewater treatment plant on September 17.

The project, aimed at improving the living environment in Jumundo-ri, Seodo-myeon, and protecting nearby water quality, cost 7.2 billion won.

With its completion, the county expects reduced odors and pests such as flies and mosquitoes, as well as improved drainage and water quality, significantly enhancing the residential environment in the island area.
