(News) Next-Generation Korean Entrepreneurs Abroad Nurture Global Leadership in Incheon


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the 2025 23rd Next-Generation Global Startup & Trade School Homecoming Program was held over six days, from October 19 to 24, at the Ramada Songdo Hotel.

This program invites next-generation overseas Koreans (1.5 to 4th generation) from around the world to Korea, with the goal of nurturing future global economic leaders and strengthening their Korean identity.

Organized annually since 2003 by the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World-OKTA), this year’s event was co-hosted by Incheon City, reinforcing global networks with next-generation overseas Koreans and raising Incheon’s profile on the international stage.





(News) Incheon Craft Creator Contest Concludes with Record Participation


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the 2025 Incheon Craft Creator Contest concluded successfully, drawing the highest number of participants in its history.

Now in its fifth year, the contest invites youth to digitally redesign urban spaces in Incheon using the popular sandbox game Minecraft from their own unique perspectives.

Held under the theme “Incheon I Imagine, Cultural Playground I Create!”, the competition presented four creative challenges: ▲Reimagining Incheon’s museums ▲Designing an underwater adventure-style marine museum ▲Transforming Incheon Art Platform into a festive cultural plaza, and ▲Creating a quest-based game map set in the historical open port area.





(News) Incheon Hosts Startup Competition Awards for Student Entrepreneurs


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that an award ceremony for outstanding teams in the student startup competition was held on September 26, during the 2nd Incheon Social Economy Fair.

The competition was part of a follow-up initiative to an agreement among Incheon City, Incheon Business Forum, Incheon National University, and Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency in June last year, which aims to discover and nurture young (preliminary) student entrepreneurs in the social economy sector and promote social contribution.

Five university teams with innovative business ideas and strong potential for social impact were selected and recognized during the awards ceremony.





(News) Incheon Launches Fall Wildfire Prevention Period


Incheon Metropolitan City announced the launch of its fall wildfire prevention period, running from October 20 to December 15, 12 days earlier than usual, in anticipation of unfavorable weather conditions, increased hiking activity, and the heightened risk of large-scale wildfires due to climate anomalies.

Incheon has established the 2025 Comprehensive Fall Wildfire Prevention Plan and will make every effort to protect citizens’ lives and property, as well as to preserve forest resources.

Wildfire Prevention Headquarters will operate throughout the prevention period, with measures including inspection and maintenance of firefighting equipment such as fire suppression vehicles and backpack pumps, and intensive monitoring and enforcement in wildfire-prone areas using professional firefighting crews and patrol personnel.





(News) Ongjin-gun to Begin Purchase of 2025 Public Reserve Rice from October 20


Ongjin-gun in Incheon will begin purchasing freshly harvested paddy rice for the 2025 public reserve program starting October 20. The county has already secured an early procurement quota of 5,566 tons.

The purchase volume, which includes freshly harvested unhulled rice, is expected to meet most of the demand from farmers across the county’s seven townships.

Procurement will start with Bukdo-myeon and Yeongheung-myeon on October 20, followed by Baengnyeong-myeon and Deokjeok-myeon beginning October 27, and will continue until all collection is complete. The designated rice variety is Chindeul, and farmers are advised to deliver their rice to local drying and storage facilities as soon as it is harvested within the procurement period.
