Incheon Uses Drone to Transport Marine Debris, Advances Smart Marine Environment Management


The Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it carried out a pilot project on October 21 and 22 to transport marine debris using drone technology at the Parageum Beach area in Buk 2-ri, Deokjeok-do.

The project aims to solve the problem of transporting debris in hard-to-access coastal areas and to manage Incheon’s marine environment more efficiently, using a drone that can carry up to 300 kg of marine debris to a transport vessel.

Through this drone transport, officials expect that tons of marine debris can be safely moved onto ships, boosting collection efficiency at the coast while improving safety for offshore operations.





Incheon Starts Kind Comment Challenge with Local Police


Incheon Metropolitan City has opened the Instagram channel of the Incheon Metropolitan City Autonomous Police Commission and launched a “One Line for a Safe Incheon” kind-comment challenge from October 23 until 2 p.m. on November 13.Citizens are invited to share a short comment about their vision of a safe Incheon, helping deepen dialogue and trust between residents and the autonomous police.Prizes—including two tickets to a magic show in Songdo—will go to outstanding comments, and posts during the campaign will highlight traffic-safety, daily-life safety and school-violence prevention efforts.





Creative Music Drama “Incheon! Haebang-Dong-yi” Marks 80th Liberation Anniversary


To mark the 80th anniversary of liberation, the Incheon Metropolitan city Children’s Choir will stage the original music drama “Incheon! Haebang-Dong-yi” on November 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the main theatre of the Incheon Culture & Arts Center.

Seen from the eyes of children, the work re-examines Incheon’s history, from its opening as a port city and through decades of change to its growth into a global city.

It warmly reminds us that we are all protagonists of the present, carrying the past while shaping tomorrow.






Museum of Korean Modern Literature to Host 2025 Sinbaram Neighbourhood Bookshop Festival


The Museum of Korean Modern Literature operated by the Incheon Cultural Foundation, will host the 2025 Sinbaram Neighborhood Book-shop Festival from October 31 (Friday) to November 2 (Sunday) at the central plaza and Building C performance hall of Incheon Art Platform.

Now in its third year, the festival, themed “Books, People, and the Neighborhood Making Literature Together” brings together local bookshops, writers and citizens. 

A variety of exhibitions, book markets, performances and experiential programs will be presented, offering a cultural space where citizens can naturally enjoy books and art in everyday life.





Abandoned Songdo Station reborn as a cultural space


Yeonsu-gu has transformed the former Songdo Station—once part of the old Suin Line—into a new cultural park.

The project, completed with an investment of 3.8 billion won, restores the station’s historic structure while showcasing a steam clock tower and narrow-gauge turntable discovered nearby.

Opened in 1937, the Suin Line once linked Nam Incheon and Suwon before closing in 1995.





Namdong-gu improves housing for people with disabilities


Namdong-gu has completed this year’s housing improvement project for residents with disabilities, upgrading a total of 20 homes.

The district exceeded its original goal after finishing two rounds of renovation work—11 homes in the first phase and 9 in the second.





Michuhol-gu conducts 2025 Population and Housing Census


Michuhol-gu is conducting the 2025 Population and Housing Census through November 18.

The survey, led by the Ministry of Data and Statistics and local governments, collects key demographic and housing information that helps shape national and regional policy. 

It covers both Korean and foreign residents living in selected areas across the country.
