Incheon’s Yeonsu-gu Inspects Underground Waste Transport System in Songdo
Yeonsu-gu plans to inspect the underground pipeline system that transports household waste to a collection facility in Songdo International City.
The district will conduct a full inspection of the 20.7-kilometer-long automated waste collection pipeline buried beneath Zones 1 and 2 of Songdo by next March.
Using CCTV-equipped robots, the inspection will check for signs of aging or damage inside the pipes. Any broken or worn sections identified will be repaired in the second half of next year.

Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Proposes Loosening Standards for Minor Changes in Large-Scale Development Zones
At the 33rd National Council of Free Economic Zone Authorities, hosted by the Gwangyang Bay Free Economic Zone Authority, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority proposed amending current laws to ease regulations on minor changes in large-scale development zones.
Under the current enforcement decree of the Free Economic Zone Act, the same standards are applied regardless of the zone’s total size, making it difficult to adjust land use and infrastructure plans flexibly for larger areas.
To address these limitations, the Incheon authority proposed applying more flexible standards specifically for large-scale development projects.
Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Submits 5.29 Trillion-Won Budget Plan for 2026
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it has submitted a 2026 budget proposal totaling 5.2887 trillion won, down 0.2 percent (88 billion won) from the previous year.
Key allocations include 358.2 billion won for initiatives to open a new era of student success, 184.1 billion won for improving school environments, 1.3118 trillion won for educational materials, student welfare, and early childhood education, and 3.4346 trillion won for personnel expenses and other fixed operating costs.
The final budget will be confirmed at the 305th regular session of the Incheon City Council on December 15, following committee reviews.
Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Hosts 9th Elementary Education Festival
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education held the 9th Incheon Elementary Education Festival on November 5, bringing together more than 1,100 participants including local elementary school teachers, pre-service teachers from Gyeongin National University of Education, and education professionals.
Under the theme “The Power of Our Identity Through Reading, Walking, and Writing — Growing Together Through Teaching and Learning,” the event aimed to share best practices from the field and promote a culture of mutual learning and growth.
An official from the office stated that the organization will continue to support teacher development through educational innovation and active communication with the field.
Incheon Tourism Organization Promotes City as a “Global MICE Platform Destination” at Korea MICE Expo 2025
Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization participated in the “Korea MICE Expo 2025,” held from November 3 to 5 at COEX in Seoul, promoting Incheon as a global MICE platform destination under the slogan “One and Only Destination, Incheon.”
KME is the largest and only professional exhibition in Korea dedicated to the MICE industry.
Together with 16 members of the Incheon MICE Alliance, the organization operated a joint promotional booth and held 166 one-on-one business meetings with domestic and international buyers.
