Incheon City Re-designated as “Environmental Education City” by the Ministry of Climate – First Among Metropolitan Governments


Incheon City announced that it has been re-designated as an “Environmental Education City” by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

This is the second designation following 2022 and marks the first case of re-designation among metropolitan governments.

The Environmental Education City is designated by the ministry under the Environmental Education Promotion and Support Act, providing administrative and financial support from the government to enhance residents’ environmental awareness and promote a sustainable society.

The city explained that it achieved this recognition by receiving high evaluations in the adequacy of its environmental education plans, support systems, and operational outcomes, establishing itself as a model city for environmental education.

 



 

Incheon City Expands “1,000-Won Delivery Service” for Small Businesses to Subway Stations


Incheon City announced that it has expanded the collection centers for the “1,000-Won Delivery” service for local small business owners to 60 subway stations on Incheon Subway Lines 1 and 2.

The service was first introduced nationwide by Incheon City in October last year, operating collection centers at 30 subway stations.

If small business owners drop off parcels directly at a subway station collection center, delivery costs start from 1,000 won, and if the parcels are picked up from their stores, the service starts from 2,000 won.

Since its launch a year ago, the project has achieved over one million cumulative deliveries and registered more than 7,400 participating businesses.




 

 Incheon Tourism Organization Wins “Best Booth Design Award” at ‘Travel Show 2025’


The Incheon Tourism Organization (ITO) and Incheon City achieved remarkable results at “Travel Show 2025” held at COEX, Seoul, winning the “Best Booth Design Award” while helping Incheon’s tourism companies expand market opportunities.

Incheon City, the Korea Tourism Organization Gyeongin Branch, and ITO jointly participated in the event held from November 7 to 9, operating the “Incheon Sanghoe” brand pavilion.

The exhibition, co-hosted by Seoul Exhibition and Mega Show, was the largest travel fair of the second half of the year, featuring about 200 companies, 300 booths, and attracting around 50,000 visitors.





Incheon Foster Care Support Center Holds “Job Interview Special Lecture” for Youth Preparing for Independence


The Green Umbrella Incheon Foster Care Support Center, a child welfare institution, announced that it held a “Job Interview Special Lecture” for self-reliant youth as part of the “2025 My Green Independence Diary” program.

The program aims to strengthen the self-sufficiency capabilities of young people preparing to leave foster care in Incheon.

Fifteen participants attended the lecture, which covered practical topics such as self-understanding and expression, job and company analysis, and resume writing techniques.




 

Ongjin-gun Successfully Holds 2025 Resident Autonomy Contest


Incheon’s Ongjin-gun announced that it successfully held the “2025 Ongjin-gun Resident Autonomy Contest” at the county’s Hyosim Hall to promote harmony and share achievements among members of resident autonomy committees.

According to Ongjin-gun, the event was designed to share activities and achievements carried out by each township’s autonomy committee over the year and to strengthen residents’ participation capacities. About 150 participants, including committee members and residents, attended.

The contest featured presentations of best practices from the seven townships’ committees, club performances, and resident art exhibitions, drawing active participation from about 130 people and creating a meaningful venue for sharing.




 

Ongjin-gun Begins Purchasing Dried Rice for 2025 Public Reserve


Incheon’s Ongjin-gun announced that it has begun purchasing dried rice for the 2025 public reserve, starting in Yeongheung-myeon and continuing across all seven townships until December 3.

This year’s procurement volume includes about 2,200 tons of dried rice and a total of 5,566 tons including raw rice, enough to cover all applications from local farmers.

Farmers must deliver their rice to designated collection sites per township in ton bags (800 kg) or sacks (40 kg) according to the schedule, ensuring a moisture level between 13–15%. If this standard is not met, the grade may be reduced or the rice may not be accepted.




Namdong-gu Holds “Forest Maintenance Event” to Promote Wildfire Prevention


Incheon’s Namdong-gu announced that it held a “Forest Maintenance Event” at the Guwol Asiad Village Neighborhood Park to mark November’s Forest Maintenance Month.

The event aimed to improve the growth environment of trees in autumn and raise public awareness of forest care. It was attended by staff from the Parks and Greenery Division and the professional wildfire prevention team.

After the event, the district also carried out a wildfire prevention campaign during the autumn wildfire caution period (October 20 to December 15).





Jung-gu to Hold Jemulpo-gu Resident Briefing Session on November 19


With only about 230 days remaining until the official launch of “Jemulpo-gu,” Incheon’s Jung-gu is working to expand resident communication and build consensus for a successful establishment of the new autonomous district.

Jung-gu announced that it will hold the “Jemulpo-gu Resident Briefing Session” on November 19 at 3 p.m. at the 4th-floor auditorium of the Korea-China Cultural Center, under the theme “United in Heart, A New Beginning for Jemulpo-gu.”

This briefing session follows the “Neighborhood Resident Briefings” held in June and aims to transparently share the progress of the Jemulpo-gu establishment and gather diverse opinions from residents of the original downtown area.
