Incheon City to Hold “Traditional Market Shopping Day” to Revitalize Local Markets


Incheon City announced that it will hold the 10th “Traditional Market Shopping Day” event from November 12 to 20 to revitalize traditional markets and stabilize people’s livelihoods.

The event will take place at 18 traditional markets across the city, in line with the “Incheon Sale Festa” period.

Each participating market will host events lasting one to five days, selling high-quality agricultural and livestock products sourced directly from farms nationwide at affordable prices. Customers who purchase event items will also have the chance to win Onnuri gift certificates and other prizes, encouraging repeat visits to traditional markets.





Incheon City Publishes September–October Edition of “IncheonNow,” Promoting Global Incheon


In celebration of the 15th anniversary of its English newsletter IncheonNow, Incheon City announced the publication of the September–October edition (Vol. 95) and the launch of a participatory subscription event for readers.

Since its first issue in 2010, IncheonNow has served as the city’s official English publication, communicating with readers around the world and sharing major municipal policies and stories of the city.

This issue focuses on “Global MICE City Incheon” and “The 75th Anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation Week,” highlighting the city’s international status and the value of peace.





Incheon City to Become Capital Region Hub for AI-Based Advanced Lighting Industry


Incheon City announced on November 10 that Kiel Research Institute has been selected as a new tenant through the second industrial land allocation at the Gyeyang Industrial Complex, marking the next step in a 40.8-billion-won investment agreement signed last September.

The institute plans to build and operate a “Circular Economy Lighting Industry Support Center” in the Gyeyang Industrial Complex, with a total investment of 40.8 billion won by 2028.

The center aims to develop eco-friendly lighting technologies, foster local talent, and advance the lighting industry.




Incheon to Host “2025 Global Influencer Expo” in Songdo


Incheon City announced that the “2025 Global Influencer Expo (GIE 2025)” will be held at Songdo Convensia from November 13 to 16.

Following last year’s event held at KINTEX in Ilsan, this will be the first time the expo takes place in Incheon. The event will bring together more than 3,000 domestic and international influencers and over 200 companies to showcase new trends in the digital content industry.

Exhibitors will promote major brand products through live broadcasts, and each booth will feature interactive programs and events for visitors.




 

Ongjin-gun Successfully Holds 2025 Resident Autonomy Contest


Incheon’s Ongjin-gun announced that it successfully held the “2025 Ongjin-gun Resident Autonomy Contest” at the county’s Hyosim Hall to promote harmony and share achievements among members of resident autonomy committees.

According to Ongjin-gun, the event was designed to share activities and achievements carried out by each township’s autonomy committee over the year and to strengthen residents’ participation capacities. About 150 participants, including committee members and residents, attended.

The contest featured presentations of best practices from the seven townships’ committees, club performances, and resident art exhibitions, drawing active participation from about 130 people and creating a meaningful venue for sharing.




 

Ongjin-gun Begins Purchasing Dried Rice for 2025 Public Reserve


Incheon’s Ongjin-gun announced that it has begun purchasing dried rice for the 2025 public reserve, starting in Yeongheung-myeon and continuing across all seven townships until December 3.

This year’s procurement volume includes about 2,200 tons of dried rice and a total of 5,566 tons including raw rice, enough to cover all applications from local farmers.

Farmers must deliver their rice to designated collection sites per township in ton bags (800 kg) or sacks (40 kg) according to the schedule, ensuring a moisture level between 13–15%. If this standard is not met, the grade may be reduced or the rice may not be accepted.




 

Namdong-gu Holds “Forest Maintenance Event” to Promote Wildfire Prevention


Incheon’s Namdong-gu announced that it held a “Forest Maintenance Event” at the Guwol Asiad Village Neighborhood Park to mark November’s Forest Maintenance Month.

The event aimed to improve the growth environment of trees in autumn and raise public awareness of forest care. It was attended by staff from the Parks and Greenery Division and the professional wildfire prevention team.

After the event, the district also carried out a wildfire prevention campaign during the autumn wildfire caution period (October 20 to December 15).





Jung-gu to Hold Jemulpo-gu Resident Briefing Session on November 19


With only about 230 days remaining until the official launch of “Jemulpo-gu,” Incheon’s Jung-gu is working to expand resident communication and build consensus for a successful establishment of the new autonomous district.

Jung-gu announced that it will hold the “Jemulpo-gu Resident Briefing Session” on November 19 at 3 p.m. at the 4th-floor auditorium of the Korea-China Cultural Center, under the theme “United in Heart, A New Beginning for Jemulpo-gu.”

This briefing session follows the “Neighborhood Resident Briefings” held in June and aims to transparently share the progress of the Jemulpo-gu establishment and gather diverse opinions from residents of the original downtown area.
