2025 Incheon Global Campus (IGC) Industry–Academia Connect Week Held in Incheon


The 2025 IGC Industry–Academia Connect Week, sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, hosted by the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, and organized by Incheon Global Campus (IGC), was held successfully yesterday.

The event served as an opportunity to reaffirm IGC’s role as a global hub for industry–academia cooperation and to share its future vision.

IGC plans to continue strengthening its role as a platform that connects global universities and companies, contributing to the development of an innovation ecosystem.






Incheon Completes Beautiful Park Bus Public Garage in Geomdan, Seo-gu


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that construction of the Beautiful Park Bus Public Garage, located within the Beautiful Park General Industrial Complex in Oryu-dong, Seo-gu, was completed on December 15.

The project was launched in 2020 to meet growing public transportation demand in the Geomdan area, driven by large-scale development, and to support stable and efficient bus operations.

It is the first bus public garage in Incheon to be equipped with hydrogen charging facilities, and is expected to contribute to the expansion of hydrogen buses and the transition to an eco-friendly public transportation system.






Incheon Will Revitalize Aging Residential Area in Gyesan-dong by 2030


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that an area in Gyesan-dong, Gyeyang-gu, has been selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s program to support the renewal of aging residential areas.

From next year through 2030, the city plans to invest 29.6 billion won, including equal contributions from national and local governments, to build a community center, public parking facilities, and carry out plaza and park renovations.

The city plans to improve living conditions in the area and promote resident-led housing improvement projects.






Michuhol-gu Identifies Over 10,000 At-Risk Households Through Lonely Death Prevention Efforts


Michuhol-gu in Incheon announced that it identified 10,744 at-risk households from January to November through various lonely death prevention initiatives.

Among them, 2,607 households were classified as high-risk and matched one-on-one with community welfare workers, who deliver donated goods and regularly check on residents.

The district also delivers health drinks twice a week to middle-aged and older residents living alone and contacts local administrative welfare centers if deliveries are not received.






Namdong-gu Secures 600 Million Won in National Funding to Renovate Sports Center


Namdong-gu in Incheon announced that the renovation project for the Namdong National Sports Center was selected for special grant support from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing 600 million won in national funding.

The funding will be used to improve safety at the aging facility and provide residents with a more comfortable sports environment.

The district plans to complete construction in the first half of the year and will also take measures to minimize inconvenience to residents during the renovation period.






Incheon Launches Integrated Public Service App ‘Incheon e-Wallet’ Next Year


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will launch an integrated public service application called “Incheon e-Wallet” in January next year.

The app uses blockchain technology to allow users to easily issue a digital ID for identity verification.

Through the platform, users can apply for city-run programs, verify Incheon residency, store and submit electronic certificates linked to Government24, and take part in citizen participation challenges.





Incheon Will Establish New Departments in Government Restructuring Next Year


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will carry out an organizational restructuring on January 9 next year to improve quality of life and secure new growth engines.

As part of the plan, the city will create a new Department of Loneliness Care, viewing loneliness and social isolation as structural social issues rather than individual problems.

The new department will coordinate policies and programs for seniors, people with disabilities, and young adults that were previously managed separately.
