2026, A Better Life in Incheon Published


Incheon City announced that it has prepared various changes that citizens can experience in their daily lives as it welcomes the new year of 2026.

The city plans to publish a booklet titled “2026, A Better Life in Incheon”, which introduces major policy changes and improvements in daily life, and provide it both online and offline so citizens can easily understand and use the information.

The booklet focuses on key policy areas closely related to everyday life, including daily life and safety, environment, education, culture and sports, family and childcare, welfare and health, and economy and jobs, helping citizens better understand city administration.




Incheon Citizens’ Life Satisfaction and Sense of Community Increase for Four Consecutive Years


Incheon City announced that the results of the 2025 Incheon Social Survey, conducted to understand citizens’ quality of life and overall social conditions, showed that citizens’ life satisfaction has increased for four consecutive years.

The survey was conducted from August 4 to September 19, 2025, targeting 9,000 households and 17,361 residents aged 13 or older in Incheon.

The results showed continuous improvement for four years in key indicators such as life satisfaction, sense of community belonging, and satisfaction with public transportation and walking environments.






Incheon Becomes First City to Receive UNICEF Child-Friendly City Certification


Incheon City announced that it has officially received its first certification as a UNICEF Child-Friendly City from the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

Since beginning preparations in 2018, the city has established related ordinances, signed an MOU with the Korean Committee for UNICEF, operated a Child Participation Committee, expanded child rights education, and introduced a child rights ombudsperson system to strengthen protections for children.

This year, Incheon successfully passed both document and on-site evaluations conducted by UNICEF Korea, achieving its first official certification as a Child-Friendly City.





Incheon Confirms Safety of Hemp-Containing Products Sold Online


The Incheon Metropolitan Government Research Institute of Public Health and Environment announced that all tested hemp-related food and cosmetic products sold online were found to be safe.

The safety inspection covered 50 products and was carried out in stages from August to December.

Incheon Begins Construction of Asan Medical Center in Cheongna


A large-scale medical complex, including an 800-bed Asan Medical Center, has officially begun construction in Cheongna International City, Incheon.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for Asan Medical Center Cheongna was held at the hospital site in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu.

The project will build a hospital with two underground floors and 19 above-ground floors on a 97,459㎡ site, with completion scheduled by 2029.

The medical complex will serve as a global-level specialized hospital, featuring dedicated centers for cancer, cardiology, gastroenterology, and spine and joint treatment.




 

Incheon Port Speeds Up Cargo Flow… Truck Processing Time Reduced by 8.8%


Incheon Port Authority announced that cargo truck entry and exit times at Incheon New Port have been reduced by 8.8 percent compared to last year.

The authority introduced an AI-based vehicle license plate recognition system at the Seonkwang New Container Terminal to reduce waiting time, and installed adjustable yard chassis at the Hanjin Container Terminal to improve efficiency by about 10 percent.

The authority plans to further strengthen port competitiveness next year by introducing automated gate systems at South Port.





 

Incheon to Conduct Special Inspection of Public Officials During Year-End


Incheon City will conduct a special inspection of public officials to maintain discipline during the year-end and New Year period.

The inspection will run for seven weeks until February 13 and will cover city offices, affiliated agencies, public corporations, and district offices.

A special inspection team of eight members will focus on work discipline violations, improper allowance claims, and other misconduct that may occur during the holiday season.





85 Adult Learners Graduate from Broadcasting Middle and High Schools in Incheon


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that 85 adult learners have graduated from broadcasting middle and high schools.

These schools provide online classes combined with twice-a-month in-person sessions, allowing students to earn official diplomas over three years.

This year, 51 students graduated from the broadcasting middle school, with the oldest graduate aged 82, while 34 students graduated from the high school, with the oldest aged 81.
