Incheon Begins Construction of Asan Medical Center in Cheongna


A large-scale medical complex, including an 800-bed Asan Medical Center, has officially begun construction in Cheongna International City, Incheon.

The Incheon Metropolitan Government announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for Asan Medical Center Cheongna was held at the hospital site in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu.

The project will build a hospital with two underground floors and 19 above-ground floors on a 97,459㎡ site, with completion scheduled by 2029.

The medical complex will serve as a global-level specialized hospital, featuring dedicated centers for cancer, cardiology, gastroenterology, and spine and joint treatment.





Incheon Port Speeds Up Cargo Flow… Truck Processing Time Reduced by 8.8%


Incheon Port Authority announced that cargo truck entry and exit times at Incheon New Port have been reduced by 8.8 percent compared to last year.

The authority introduced an AI-based vehicle license plate recognition system at the Seonkwang New Container Terminal to reduce waiting time, and installed adjustable yard chassis at the Hanjin Container Terminal to improve efficiency by about 10 percent.

The authority plans to further strengthen port competitiveness next year by introducing automated gate systems at South Port.





 

Incheon to Conduct Special Inspection of Public Officials During Year-End


Incheon City will conduct a special inspection of public officials to maintain discipline during the year-end and New Year period.

The inspection will run for seven weeks until February 13 and will cover city offices, affiliated agencies, public corporations, and district offices.

A special inspection team of eight members will focus on work discipline violations, improper allowance claims, and other misconduct that may occur during the holiday season.






85 Adult Learners Graduate from Broadcasting Middle and High Schools in Incheon


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that 85 adult learners have graduated from broadcasting middle and high schools.

These schools provide online classes combined with twice-a-month in-person sessions, allowing students to earn official diplomas over three years.

This year, 51 students graduated from the broadcasting middle school, with the oldest graduate aged 82, while 34 students graduated from the high school, with the oldest aged 81.






Incheon Police Inspect Gyeyang Mountain Ahead of Year-End Gatherings


The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency conducted safety inspections at Gyeyang Mountain, a popular year-end and New Year sunrise spot.

Police also prepared safety management plans for crowded areas such as Jeongseojin, Wolmido, and Geojampo Port, strengthening traffic control and patrols.

During the holiday period, about 390 police officers and patrol vehicles will be deployed to ensure public safety.





 

Jung-gu Selects Apartments with Outstanding Food Waste Reduction


Jung-gu in Incheon selected apartment complexes with excellent food waste reduction performance through its incentive program.

The evaluation was conducted to encourage food waste reduction in residential areas, and top-performing complexes were selected based on their reduction results.

Selected apartment complexes will receive incentives such as standard waste bags (75L).




 

Yeonsu Library Opens Applications for 2026 Citizen Reading Clubs


The Yeonsu Library of the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced it is recruiting citizen reading clubs for 2026.

Any group of five or more adult residents in Incheon can apply to form a reading club.

Selected clubs will receive activity space, online support, and up to 300,000 won worth of books from February to December 2026.






Michuhol-gu Completes Renovation of Yongnam Children’s Park


Michuhol-gu announced the completion of renovation work at Yongnam Children’s Park in Yonghyeon 1·4-dong.

It invested 750 million won to improve old facilities, install new playground equipment with a space theme, and add amenities such as pergolas and badminton courts.

This is the first full renovation of the park since 2008, marking its first major upgrade in 17 years.
