Seo-gu recruits members for 9th Children’s Participation Committee


Incheon’s Seo-gu is recruiting members for the 9th Children’s Participation Committee. The committee helps children recognize their rights. It also allows them to take part in district administration as active members of the community. Eligible applicants are elementary school students in grades three through six. They must live or attend school in Seo-gu. Children will be selected through open recruitment with their age, gender, and activity experience considered in recruitment.





Ongjin-gun offers practical New Year farming education


Ongjin-gun held practical New Year farming training for farmers and return-to-farming immigrants. Around 400 farmers participated in the training held for two days from January 26 at Yeongheung-myeon. The program reflected changes in the farming environment and on-site needs. It was designed to help farmers plan their farming year. Guest experts provided crop-specific cultivation and management techniques. The training focused on skills that can be applied immediately in the field. Topics included cultivation techniques for major local crops such as chili peppers, grapes, radish, and cabbage, as well as pest control and fruit tree pruning methods.





Bupyeong-gu Youth Center recruits members for 7th Parent Support Group


The Bupyeong-gu Youth Training Center is recruiting new members for the 2026 7th Parent Support Group. Applications will be open through March 13. Any parent with children and youth aged 9 to 24 may apply. The child must live or attend school in Bupyeong-gu. Selection will be made after a review of online applications. Final members will be chosen through interviews on March 18. Selected members will receive priority access to professional training. Outstanding members will also receive awards.





Environmental group calls for development project review over endangered frog habitat


Green Korea Incheon has called for a full review of the Samsan District 4 urban development project. The area in Bupyeong-gu is a known habitat of the endangered gold-spotted pond frog. The project plans to develop 703,694 square meters of rice paddies and wetlands into residential and commercial land. Completion is targeted for 2029. Based on surveys conducted last year, the group said the area may be home to thousands to tens of thousands of gold-spotted pond frogs. The species have been designated as endangered by the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment, and they are also Incheon’s flagship species. They mainly inhabit wetlands formed in rice paddies.





International-standard RC car race track completed in Songdo


Korea’s first public RC car race track operated by a public agency has opened in Songdo International City. The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority said the track was built at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park. A total of 3.5 billion won was invested for the facility that covers an area of 20,000 square meters. The track was built as an on-road circuit and it meets international competition standards set by the International Federation of Model Auto Racing.





Incheon to hold integrated briefing on village community programs


Incheon Metropolitan City will hold an integrated briefing on village community programs. The event will take place on February 2 at the main lecture hall of Jemulpo Smart Town. The briefing introduces community project contests and key support policies run by the city and districts. It aims to expand citizen participation. This year, Incheon established its third basic plan for village community development, covering 2026 to 2030. The city set its vision as building communities that grow through autonomy and solidarity with citizens.





Michuhol-gu releases public parking video guide

It was planned to address repeated complaints and inquiries. Many stemmed from confusion between street parking and off-road parking lots. The video clearly explains usage procedures by parking type. It also covers fees and payment methods. The content is designed to be easy to understand from a citizen’s perspective.
