Incheon Launches Apartment Housing Management Support Center


Incheon Metropolitan City has launched a Housing Management Support Center for multi-unit homes. The center will help ensure the systematic management of the city’s multi-family residential complexes, which now exceed one million units. With the growing number of multi-unit homes, there has been an increase in safety and security incidents and disputes within residential communities. The center will provide professional support for these issues by carrying out apartment management operation audits, operating advisory groups to help reduce maintenance fees, and offering counseling on inter-floor noise disputes. 





Incheon Launches Branding Support Program For Commercial Districts


Incheon Metropolitan City will launch a “commercial district branding support program” aimed at establishing tailored growth strategies for local business areas. Working with private-sector experts, the city plans to analyze the current conditions of each commercial district and define their identities and future development directions. Traditional markets, alley-type shopping streets, and local commercial district communities in Incheon that wish to participate can apply online through March 25th.






Incheon Citizen Life College Holds Honorary Citizen Degree Conferment Ceremony 


Incheon Metropolitan City has held a degree conferment ceremony for the recipients of Incheon Citizen University’s Honorary Citizen Degree for 2026. The event was organized to encourage citizens’ voluntary learning efforts and achievements while further strengthening Incheon’s status as a lifelong learning city. Incheon Citizen University, which provides citizens with systematic and high-quality lifelong learning opportunities across various fields, was launched in 2022 and is now in its fifth year of operation. A total of 107 people completed the 2025 curriculum, including 76 bachelor’s-level graduates, 19 master’s-level graduates, and 12 doctoral-level graduates. Including this year’s graduates, a total of 343 people have received honorary citizen degrees so far.





Incheon Selected For Government Project To Revitalize Wellness Tourism Cluster


Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization have been selected for the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s project to revitalize the wellness tourism sector. With the selection, Incheon will strengthen its foundation as a global hub for wellness and medical tourism. The city will receive approximately 1.3 billion won in government funding over the next three years to develop a long-stay wellness tourism model. Incheon plans to advance its existing tourism model by expanding tourism from an industrial perspective and actively building a healing and medical tourism ecosystem designed to encourage longer stays by both domestic and international visitors.





Household Waste Shipments Sudokwon Landfill Drop Sharply After Ban


The amount of household waste sent to the Sudokwon landfill has dropped sharply following the ban on direct landfilling of household waste in the greater Seoul area taking effect this year. 

According to the Sudokwon Landfill Management Corporation, a total of 4,706 tons of household waste were brought to the Sudokwon landfill in Seo-gu, Incheon, between January and February this year. Concerns had been raised that local governments in the Seoul Metropolitan region could face serious waste disposal difficulties after the direct landfill ban took effect. However, waste is currently being processed without major disruption. 





Incheon Moves Forward With Jungbong Tunnel Project 


Incheon Metropolitan City has selected a preferred bidder for the privately funded Jungbong Tunnel project. The tunnel will connect Gyeongseo Intersection and Geomdan 2nd Intersection in Seo-gu. The 4.5-kilometer Jungbong Tunnel will be built as a four-lane underground road under a public-private partnership (BTO-a) model. The preferred bidder, tentatively named Jungbong Tunnel Co. led by DL Construction, proposed a total project cost of 349.3 billion won. 

The city plans to complete negotiations by the end of this year and begin construction in 2028.
