Incheon Strengthens Support System For Middle-Aged Residents
Incheon Metropolitan City is strengthening its support system to help middle-aged residents aged 40 and older smoothly transition to new careers and expand their participation in society. The city announced that it will enhance the support framework by linking the functions of “Jobs Incheon” and the “New Middle-Aged Hub.” Jobs Incheon will strengthen employment support services focused on job changes and career transitions, while the New Middle-Aged Hub will serve as a center for life transitions, capacity building, and community activities, providing step-by-step support from career preparation to social participation.
Incheon Seeks Applicants For Animal Shelter Renovation Program
Incheon Metropolitan City will accept applications for its Animal Protection Facility Renovation Support Program. The program aims to improve shelter conditions for medium- and large-sized abandoned dogs, and applications will be accepted.through March 27. The program focuses on dogs weighing 10 kilograms or more, and seeks to provide a safer and more comfortable protection space for larger dogs that are generally more difficult to manage. Eligible applicants are veterinarians operating animal hospitals in Incheon who plan to care for larger abandoned dogs at facilities separate from their clinics. The total project budget is 171.5 million won, consisting of 70% city-funding, and 30% self-financing. Selected applicants will be supported with up to 120 million won in support.
Incheon Recruits Citizens For ‘Street Tree Guardians’ Program
Incheon Metropolitan City will recruit participants for the “Street Tree Guardians” program. Applications will be received from March 9 to 20 for the program which allows citizens to take part in caring for urban street trees and improving the city’s environment. The program is a volunteer initiative in which citizens take the lead in managing urban green spaces and promoting a pleasant city environment. Key activities include reporting damage or pest outbreaks affecting street trees, removing illegal advertisements, and cleaning surrounding green areas. Participants can receive up to two hours of volunteer service credit per day through the 1365 Volunteer Portal. Individuals and groups with outstanding performance will receive mayoral commendations at the end of the year.
Incheon Recruits Companies For Tourism Mutual Growth Innovation Program
Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization will recruit companies to participate in the “2026 Incheon Tourism Mutual Growth Innovation” program. Applications will be accepted through April 9 for the program, which integrates and advances the existing Open Innovation program and collaborative projects. The program aims to solve key tourism challenges in the city while discovering and commercializing innovative tourism content and business models through cooperation between major tourism hubs in Incheon and local tourism companies. A total of five companies will be selected this year. Depending on the category, each will receive commercialization support ranging from about 20 to 30 million won. Applications will be accepted in three categories: innovative technology, innovative content, and cooperative partnership.
Incheon Moves To Become Northeast Asia Cruise Hub
Incheon Metropolitan City’s Cruise Industry Development Committee has received policy advice from experts to transform the city into a Northeast Asian cruise hub. The committee meeting invited academics, related organizations, and experts to discuss the 2nd Five-Year Plan for Fostering Incheon’s Cruise Industry (2026–2030) and the 2026 Incheon Cruise Industry Revitalization Plan. As cruise ship arrivals at Incheon Port are rapidly increasing amid recent changes in global conditions, participants discussed mid- and long-term strategies to upgrade the city into a regional cruise hub. The strategies include strengthening tourism information services for cruise passengers in cooperation with the Incheon Tourism Organization and expanding free shuttle bus services linking the cruise terminal with major attractions such as Sangsang Platform and Songdo, in collaboration with the Incheon Port Authority and the Korea Tourism Organization.
