Incheon Metropolitan City will begin full-fledged implementation of its Lifelong Learning Voucher Support Program for 2026. The program aims to create an environment where all citizens can participate in lifelong learning without discrimination and strengthen their future capabilities. It focuses not only on supporting education costs but also on bringing meaningful changes to citizens’ lives through learning opportunities. Eligible applicants include low-income adults aged 19 and older, seniors aged 65 and older, adults aged 30 and older seeking education in AI and digital fields, and registered persons with disabilities aged 19 and older. Through the program, more than 6,000 citizens will be provided with opportunities for lifelong learning.
Incheon To Launch Special Crackdown On Illegal Recreational Fishing Activities
Incheon Metropolitan City will conduct a special joint crackdown on recreational fishing to protect fishery resources and promote a healthy marine leisure culture. The crackdown will begin on March 19, taking place during the peak season for recreational fishing activities. Enforcement teams will be organized by area and will focus on locations with repeated complaints and vulnerable time periods. The crackdown will target illegal capture and harvesting activities by non-fishermen that violate the Fisheries Resources Management Act. Major violations include the use of unauthorized fishing gear, illegal collection of seafood while using scuba equipment, fishing during prohibited periods, catching seafood below the legal size or weight limits, and unauthorized harvesting or removal of aquaculture products from village-managed fishing grounds.
Korea Coast Guard To Recruit 200 Youth Interns This Year
The Korea Coast Guard will recruit 200 youth interns this year. The positions include 40 interns at the agency’s headquarters and 160 at affiliated institutions, with recruitment schedules varying by organization. Young people aged 19 to 34 can apply regardless of academic background or major. Successful applicants will be assigned to areas such as administrative support, public relations, foreign language services, and food and nutrition. For headquarters positions, applications will be accepted from March 18 to 25 through the youth internship database website, with final results to be announced on April 24th after document screening and interviews.

Incheon Metropolitan Theater, the first municipal theater company established in Korea, will stage "You Think You Know Incheon?!,” from April 11 to 19 at the Small Theater of the Incheon Culture & Arts Center. The omnibus-style original production humorously explores Incheon’s history and culture in multiple formats. Written and directed by Im Do-wan, widely known as the master of physical theater, the play departs from traditional theater formats, combining a variety of artistic genres including video, music, songs, rap, dance, shadow theater, and movement to create a dynamic stage experience.
Incheon Holds 2nd Employment Policy Deliberation Meeting To Create Jobs
Incheon Metropolitan City has held the second Employment Policy Deliberation Committee meeting of 2026, and approved a proposal for the “2026 Detailed Annual Job Creation Plan.” According to the plan, the city will strengthen the role of the public sector to respond to slowing employment growth, and focus on policies to ease labor market dual structures between traditional and emerging industries as well as large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises. With a target employment rate of 70.1% for residents aged 15 to 64, the city plans to create a total of 169,234 jobs by investing 1.28 trillion won in 2026.
Incheon Launches Initiative To Build Policy Framework Addressing Loneliness
Incheon Metropolitan City will release a public notice to select organizations to implement the city’s project to establish the foundation for loneliness policies. The public call will take place from March 13-27, with organizations to be selected from the city’s districts and counties. The project is a pilot initiative newly launched alongside the establishment of the city’s Loneliness Care Bureau. It aims to support residents in forming healthy social relationships and naturally connecting with their local communities. Key programs under the initiative include the i-Link Company virtual workplace program, the “Our Neighborhood Heart Ramen” program, and a community connection campaign. A total of eight organizations will be selected based on the feasibility and suitability of their project plans. The city will provide a total of 460 million won to support operating and program expenses.
