Inha Univ. to develop AI-based underwater exploration technology for marine artifacts
Inha University aims to develop AI-based technology that systematically explores underwater cultural heritage. The university announced that its project to develop and standardize underwater cultural heritage exploration technology based on autonomous unmanned swarm navigation has been selected for a national heritage R&D program by the Cultural Heritage Administration. The project aims to build an integrated exploration system that combines AI detection technology with swarm navigation of multiple unmanned surface vehicles (USV). The university’s research team plans to develop technology that allows USVs to simultaneously survey sea areas and automatically detect anomalies, such as shipwrecks or artifacts, by analyzing data collected through multiple sensors.
Incheon home prices rise for five consecutive months, Yeonsu-gu sees biggest increase
Housing sale prices in Incheon have risen for five straight months since October last year. According to a real estate market trend report released by the city based on data from the Korea Real Estate Board, Incheon’s housing price index rose 0.04% last month, following a 0.07% increase the previous month. By district, Yeonsu-gu saw the largest increase at 0.47%, followed by Bupyeong-gu at 0.09% and Namdong-gu at 0.01%. Meanwhile, the number of housing transactions slightly declined from 3,808 in December to 3,668 in January.
Incheon launches field training ahead of integrated community care law
Incheon Metropolitan City is ramping up efforts to strengthen on-site response capabilities ahead of the full implementation of the Act on Integrated Support for Community Care Including Medical Care and Nursing Care (Community Care Act) on March 27. The city announced it will hold a two-day training program from March 24 to 25 for around 300 public officials in charge of integrated care at the local level, as well as public health center staff. The training is designed to enhance frontline workers’ understanding of the policy and improve their ability to carry out related duties effectively.
Incheon to operate visiting repair service for fishing equipment
The Incheon Fisheries Technology Support Center will begin full-scale operation of a visiting repair service for fishing equipment. The program targets fishermen in island and remote areas where transportation is limited and repair shops are far away. Under the program, professional technicians visit fishing villages to inspect and repair vessel engines, fishing gear, and aquaculture equipment. This year, the service will cover three regions: Baengnyeong-Daecheong, Yeonpyeong-Jawol, and Ganghwa-Seo-gu, and is available to all registered fishing operators. Support includes inspection and repair of key equipment, with subsidies of up to 200,000 won per visit, up to twice a year, for a maximum annual total of 400,000 won per person.

The “2026 Korea Ramen Expo” will be held at Songdo Convensia from March 26 to 29.
