Incheon Launches Public Delivery App for Small Businesses
Incheon Metropolitan City is introducing a public delivery app service with lower commission fees designed to ease the burden on small business owners. The city signed a public-private partnership with Mukkebi, Shinhan Bank, and KONA I to roll out the platform. Unlike private delivery apps that charge commissions of up to 7.8 percent, the new service will cap fees at under 2 percent. Officials say the app will also link with the local currency system or Incheon E-eum Card, helping create a virtuous cycle of local spending.
Incheon Recruits New Members for Dad Childcare Angels
In celebration of the Family Month of May, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon branch of the Korea Population Health and Welfare Association are recruiting new members for “Incheon Dad Childcare Angels.” A parenting workshop session titled “Secrets to a Communicating Couple” will also be held on May 16. “Incheon Dad Childcare Angels” is a parenting community for dads supported by the city, allowing dads to share parenting concerns and spread a joyful parenting culture. It is open to fathers with children aged 0 to 10, and offers parenting resources and both online and offline activities. It also emphasizes respectful communication and conflict resolution through nonviolent dialogue.
Incheon to Conduct Safe Korea Exercise & Kids Safety Camp
Incheon Metropolitan City will operate the 2026 Safe Korea Exercise and a Children's Disaster Response Experience Camp to strengthen rapid and systematic response capabilities in the event of a disaster. The Safe Korea Exercise is jointly conducted by Incheon Metropolitan City, Seo-gu, Incheon Power Plant, and Korea Midland Power Co., and will simulate complex emergencies where natural and social disasters occur simultaneously. The goal is to review the cooperation system among relevant agencies in preparation for complex disasters caused by heavy rainfall, such as sinkholes, large-scale fires resulting from gas leaks and explosions, hazardous chemical leaks, and power outages, and to secure practical capabilities to respond immediately when an actual disaster occurs.
IncheonSeeks Master Craftspeople for 2026 Honor Program
Incheon Metropolitan City will select the”‘2026 Incheon Metropolitan City Master Craftsmen” to recognize skilled technicians who possess outstanding technical expertise in the industrial field and have contributed to the development of local industries. "Incheon Metropolitan City Master Craftsmen" are skilled professionals who have worked in the same field for a long period and have been recognized for the highest level of technical expertise and professionalism. The city has been operating the honor program since 2017 to discover skilled technicians in various fields such as auto repair, surface treatment, baking, and beauty services. A total of 17 Master Craftsmen have been honored to date. Up to 10 individuals will be selected from 37 fields and 85 occupations.
IFEZ Supports Startups Entering Public Procurement Market
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority will recruit participating companies for the “2026 Incheon Startup Park Demonstration Product Sales Channel Support Project.” The project aims to support startups entering the public market and expand sales channels for their demonstration products and services, helping them secure innovative product designation and linking it to public procurement. Selected companies will be provided with expert consulting, mock evaluations, and support for patent application and marketing materials.This is expected to help strengthen startups’ foundation for entering the procurement market and support their connection with actual buyers and expand sales channels. About 15 startups with innovative products will be chosen for the program. Eligible applicants are Incheon-based companies established within the last 7 years that possess innovative technologies, products, or services.
