Incheon Provides On-site Support for Farmers Amid Rice Seedling Concerns
Incheon’s Agricultural Technology & Extension Center is operating a Rice Nursery Technical Support Team and providing on-site support to farmers as fluctuating temperatures threaten rice seedlings. The optimal growth temperature for rice seedlings is known to be 20–25℃, and it has been found that there is a high possibility of damage such as damping-off and seedling blight when the minimum temperature drops below 10℃ or the daily temperature range exceeds 10℃. To prevent such damage, farmers are advised to manage ventilation during the day and maintain warmth at night to stabilize conditions. By providing on-site support, the city plans to resolve the technical difficulties faced by farmers and establish a foundation for stable rice production.
