Summer Disaster Prevention Measures Launched for Agriculture and Livestock Sector

The city of Incheon is implementing disaster prevention measures for the agriculture and livestock sectors in preparation for summer natural disasters. Last month, the city conducted comprehensive safety inspections of 56 agricultural reservoirs and 114 seawalls along with other disaster-vulnerable facilities. It also carried out practical emergency response training at 20 large reservoirs with storage capacities exceeding 200,000 cubic meters, simulating natural disaster scenarios. By next month, the city plans to intensively inspect fishing vessels and aquaculture facilities and reinforce safety infrastructure at 13 local fishing ports.





Incheon New Port to Add 230 Additional Truck Parking Spaces According to the Incheon Port Authority (IPA), a new truck parking facility will be built on a 30,877-square-meter site adjacent to the existing truck parking area in Zone 2 of Phase 1-1 at Incheon New Port. The project comes as part of the current 230-space parking lot in Zone 2 will be closed beginning in January next year due to drainage construction linked to the development of the Phase 2-1 hinterland complex. The new parking facility, which will provide 230 parking spaces, will be completed by the end of this year at a cost of approximately 1.4 billion won. In addition, part of the existing parking lot scheduled for closure will be reopened for use after the drainage project is completed late next year.





Incheon Recruiting Women Farmers for Special Health Screening Program

The Incheon Metropolitan Government is accepting applications for the 2026 Special Health Screening Program for Women Farmers. The program aims to protect health and prevent work-related illnesses for women in agriculture by detecting and preventing musculoskeletal, respiratory, and cardiovascular diseases caused by repetitive agricultural work. It includes specialized screening items that are not typically covered under the national health examination program. Screening services include musculoskeletal disorder assessments, fracture risk evaluations, cardiovascular examinations, pulmonary function tests, pesticide exposure assessments, and physician consultations. 




Incheon Education Office Launches Online Career Fair for Vocational High Schools

The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education has launched the "2026 AI-Based i-Job Virtual Career Fair," an online platform providing information on vocational high school programs and career pathways. The fair allows students to explore academic departments and career options at vocational schools without restrictions of time or location. The education office designated May 26 through June 5 for special promotional campaigns, and plans to offer school-linked events and educational resources for middle school curricula.





Ongjin-gun Secures Additional 1.5 Billion Won for Modo-ri Road Project

Ongjin-gun has secured an additional 1.5 billion won in special provincial grants from Incheon Metropolitan City for the Modo-ri road widening project in Bukdo-myeon. The project will widen a road stretching from a community worksite to a nearby cemetery area in Modo-ri, addressing traffic congestion and pedestrian safety concerns caused by the narrow roadway. The project covers a 423-meter section and includes expanding the road to two lanes and constructing pedestrian walkways. County officials said concerns over traffic congestion and safety have continued to grow as vehicle traffic is expected to increase following the opening of the Sindo Peace Bridge.





Yeongjong International City to Introduce Mobile CCTV System for Illegal Parking 

Incheon’s Jung-gu has announced plans to introduce a mobile CCTV enforcement system to address illegal parking and stopping violations in Yeongjong International City. The district will equip its three parking enforcement vehicles with mobile CCTV cameras this year. The project is funded through a special adjustment grant of 57 million won. One CCTV unit will be installed on each enforcement vehicle operating in the Yeongjong area, enabling more efficient monitoring and enforcement.
