Incheon Selects IFEZ for Top Honor at Fiscal Innovation Awards
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has selected the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Authority as the grand prize winner of this year's Fiscal Innovation Awards.
The IFEZ Authority was recognized for its contributions in reducing budget expenditures and strengthening fiscal soundness by thoroughly reviewing its overall operations and identifying key areas for improvement in its efforts to ease the steadily growing burden of outsourced project costs.
Jung-gu, which received the excellence award, successfully introduced a private capital utilization method while executing a cadastral resurvey project for the Incheon International Airport zone, and was recognized for its achievements in reducing public fiscal burdens and securing tax revenues.
Incheon to Host 'Community Enterprise Festival'
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host the "2026 Community Enterprise Festival” in large-scale apartment complexes.
The festival will introduce high-quality products from local community enterprises and stimulate consumer spending. Community enterprises are neighborhood-level businesses where local residents utilize regional resources to solve community issues, generate income, and create jobs.
The festival was organized to promote the value of these community enterprises by bringing them directly into the residents' daily living spaces, expand the local consumer base, and support sales and market channels growth.
The festival will be held in two rounds, centering on large-scale apartment complexes within Songdo International City, and introduce a total of 18 highly capable community enterprises that will showcase a wide variety of region-specific products.
Incheon to Run On-Site Housing Counseling Center for Young People
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that in collaboration with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, it will operate the "2026 On-Site Youth Housing Counseling Center" on June 18 at the Incheon City Hall Main Conference Room.
The event is designed to ease the growing housing cost burden on young people and prevent rental-related damages, such as jeonse (lump-sum deposit) fraud.
It also aims to provide comprehensive information on various housing policies, including public housing, housing finance, and apartment subscription systems.
The center will provide counsel on: Real estate contracting tips for young people entering society; Real estate finance and jeonse fraud prevention; and Public and private housing subscription systems.
Through these sessions, the city plans to answer some of the housing questions young people encounterin their daily lives and help them access necessary policy information with ease.
Incheon Center for Disability Housing Transition Launches Video Contest
The Incheon Center for Disability Housing Transition, under the Incheon Metropolitan City Public Agency for Social Service, announced that it is hosting the "Independent Life Story Video Contest," centered on the theme of independence for individuals with disabilities.
The submission period runs from June 1 to July 31, 2026. Individuals with disabilities and their family members are welcome to participate either individually or as a team.
Contest entries can be submitted as short-form videos under 60 seconds or standard videos between 3 to 5 minutes in length.
Usage of generative AI tools for images, music, and voiceovers are permitted. Submissions should capture the real-life journeys of individuals with disabilities deciding on, and achieving independence; the realities of their daily independent lives; or the heartfelt stories of their parents and families.
Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra to Present 'Chamber Music Concert II,'
The Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra will present its curated performance, "ChamberMusic Concert II," on Friday, July 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Incheon Culture & Arts Center’s Small Concert Hall.
The upcoming performance will showcase the charms of chamber music through an expanded lens, featuring a broad repertoire spanning from the Baroque to the Romantic eras alongside a diverse arrangement of instruments.
Tickets are priced at 10,000 won for all seats, and reservations can be made through the Incheon Culture & Arts Center website, Enticket, and NOL Ticket.
Incheon TP Recruits Participants for '16th Incheon Design Supporters'
The Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) is accepting applications for the "16th Incheon Design Supporters" until June 28 to promote the local design industry and nurture aspiring designers.
The "Incheon Design Supporters" is an interactive program allowing university students to directly experience local design industries and support projects by planning and creating promotional content. It has served as a flagship design extracurricular activity in Incheon for the past 16 years.
The recruitment is open to current or on-leave university students aged 18 or older, who are majoring in design-related fields. A total of eight participants will be selected.
The selected supporters will carry out various activities from July to November, including: Promoting the projects and facilities of the Incheon Design Support Center; Creating design content; Participating in local design events and more.
