Incheon Arboretum to Offer Summer Children’s Forest Education Program
The Incheon Grand Park Office will operate a special Summer Forest Ecology Program for elementary school students at the Incheon Arboretum from Aug. 11 to 15.
Led by professional forest interpreters, the program will introduce children to the ecology of trees, flowers, insects, and other aspects of the natural environment through engaging and easy-to-understand activities.
Sessions will be offered free of charge twice a day, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Online registration opens at 9 a.m. on July 15, with each applicant able to reserve spots for up to five participants.
Inha Univ. & Baku Engineering Univ. Award Dual Degrees to 114 Graduates
Inha University has produced the third graduating class of its dual-degree program jointly operated with Azerbaijan's Baku Engineering University (BEU).
A total of 114 graduates received degrees from both universities during a recent commencement ceremony held in Baku.
The international education program, launched for students admitted in 2020, aims to cultivate globally competitive talent in key science and engineering fields.
Students complete three years of study at BEU before spending their final year at Inha University, earning dual degrees upon completing the program.
Incheon Recruits Youth Supporters for 2026 INCHINA Forum
Incheon Metropolitan City is recruiting INCHINA Forum Youth Supporters who will promote the upcoming INCHINA Forum International Conference 2026 both online and offline ahead of its opening on Sept. 8.
This year’s recruit will be the seventh group of youth supporters, and it is open to young people with an interest in Korea-China exchanges and the planning and promotion of international academic conferences.
Applications will be accepted from July 13 to 24, with 20 participants to be selected. Those chosen after review will serve for about seven weeks, from Aug. 3 to Sept. 17.
Beyond promoting the event, this year's supporters will create and share original content that reinterprets Incheon's growth in the fields of artificial intelligence, biotechnology, culture, and energy from a young generation's perspective.
Incheon Holds Ceremony Marking 3rd North Korean Defectors’ Day
Incheon Metropolitan City has successfully held a ceremony to commemorate the third North Korean Defectors' Day on July 11 at the Incheon Arts Center.
Hosted by the Incheon Unification Plus Center, the event was organized to celebrate North Korean Defectors’ Day, a national observance on July 14, promote pride among North Korean defectors, and foster a more inclusive community.
The city said it will continue supporting the stable settlement of North Korean defectors while expanding cultural and exchange programs that encourage coexistence and social inclusion.
Incheon Library to Offer Humanities Program for Middle-Aged Adults
The Incheon Library announced that it will offer a classic humanities program for middle-aged adults titled "The Afternoon of Life: Seeking Direction Through the Classics."
The program was selected as part of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Wisdom School 2026 initiative, jointly organized by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service and the Korean Library Association.
Designed as an advanced humanities course that explores life's wisdom and insight, the program will be taught by Koo Gyo-hyun, a research professor at Yonsei University, over 13 sessions from Aug. 3 to Nov. 9.
The course is intended to help middle-aged participants reflect on their lives and consider the direction they wish to take in the future.
