5th Blue Dragon Series Awards to be held in Incheon on July 31
The 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards, sponsored by Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization, will be held at Incheon Paradise City on July 31.
The awards ceremony recognizes outstanding Korean dramas and entertainment programs released on major over-the-top (OTT) streaming platforms.
It will be broadcast live on KBS 2TV, Naver TV, and KBS's YouTube channel.
To promote Korea's content industry and showcase Incheon's appeal as a destination city, Incheon has hosted and supported the Blue Dragon Series Awards every year since its inaugural ceremony in 2022.
Senior Protection Agency brings elder abuse prevention programs to island communities
The Incheon Senior Protection Agency, operated by the Incheon Public Agency for Social Service, is strengthening the protection of senior citizens' rights by visiting island communities with limited access to education to provide elder abuse prevention programs.
The program will educate elders on the definition of elder abuse, its causes and types, and provide case studies, appropriate responses to abuse, and procedures for accessing and referring victims to elder abuse shelters.
Communities wishing to receive the training can apply through the "Elder Abuse Prevention Education Application" section on the agency's website.
Inha Univ. recruits participants for Korean Language & Culture Outreach Program
Inha University’s Korean Language Culture Center is recruiting organizations to participate in its Korean Language & Culture Outreach Program for 2026.
Each year, in cooperation with Incheon Metropolitan City, the center offers outreach language programs promoting proper Korean language use among Incheon residents, public officials, youth, multicultural families, immigrant youth, foreign nationals, and overseas Koreans.
This year's program features four courses: Easy Stories About the Korean Language, Public Language and Press Release Writing at a Glance, Korean That Connects Hearts, and Korean That Connects People.
Incheon TP's AAV Test & Support Center earns KOLAS accreditation
The Korea AAV Test & Support Center, operated by Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), has been accredited as an internationally recognized testing laboratory by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) under the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards.
With the accreditation, the center will now provide full-scale testing and certification services for the advanced air mobility (PAV/UAM) sector.
The accreditation also enhances the reliability and traceability of the center's testing results and further strengthens its standing as an internationally accredited testing institution.
Building on this infrastructure, the center plans to provide testing and analysis, certification services, core technology development, and technical consulting for domestic advanced air mobility companies, supporting their entry into domestic and overseas markets as well as airworthiness certification.
Incheon to provide SME support funding starting Aug. 3
Incheon Metropolitan City will provide 275.2 billion won in financial support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the second half of the year.
The package includes 250 billion won in interest subsidy support for business stabilization loans and 25.2 billion won for industrial restructuring and advancement projects, helping ease financial burdens and strengthen business stability for local companies.
The interest subsidy program is available to manufacturers and manufacturing-related businesses operating factories in Incheon.
Eligible companies can receive up to 1 billion won in support, while businesses recognized for technological excellence and other priority firms will qualify for higher loan limits and preferential interest rates.
Incheon launches task force ahead of first residents moving into Gyeyang Techno Valley
Incheon Metropolitan City has begun reviewing preparations across multiple sectors ahead of the first residents moving into the Gyeyang Techno Valley Public Housing District this December.
Gyeyang Techno Valley will become the first of the government's five third-generation new towns to welcome residents.
To minimize inconvenience during the initial settlement period, the city plans to hold monthly task force meetings through June next year while maintaining a joint response system with relevant agencies.
