Illegal drone operations at Yeongjong Beach could result in heavy fines
Incheon International Airport Corporation has launched a joint campaign with civilian, government, and military authorities to prevent illegal drone operations during the summer vacation season.
Under aviation regulations, the area within a 9.3-kilometer radius of Incheon International Airport is designated as a drone no-fly zone.
The restricted area includes popular summer destinations such as Eulwangri, Wangsan, and Hanagae beaches, as well as Seonnyeobawi Beach and Silmi Amusement Park.
Anyone flying a drone in the restricted zone without prior approval from the regional aviation administration may face a fine of up to 5 million won under the Aviation Safety Act.
Incheon launches new port-of-call themed performances to enhance cruise tourism
Incheon Metropolitan City will introduce a new series of port-of-call themed performances for international cruise passengers to strengthen the city's appeal as a cruise destination.
The performances will be staged in the boarding area of the Incheon Port Cruise Terminal, a secure zone, and will feature dynamic aspects of Korean popular culture, including cheerleading by local university squads and K-pop dance performances.
The city also plans to offer a variety of performances, including magic and bubble shows that can be enjoyed regardless of language, tailored to each ship's schedule and passenger capacity, providing visitors with a uniquely Incheon cruise experience.
The program is designed to improve visitor satisfaction and encourage cruise passengers to return in the future.
Incheon Int’l Airport to draw up mid-to long-term transportation blueprint through 2045
Incheon International Airport Corporation is preparing a mid-to long-term strategy to improve the transportation system centered on Incheon International Airport.
The corporation announced that it will spend 920 million won on a research project, to be completed by the end of next year, to establish a mid-to long-term transportation improvement plan for the airport.
It said existing transportation data was compiled before the COVID-19 pandemic and no longer accurately reflects current travel patterns and traffic conditions.
The study will comprehensively examine the current transportation system, identify problems and improvement measures, enhance regional connectivity, and explore the introduction of advanced transportation options.
Jemulpo-gu to provide filial support allowance for multigenerational families
Incheon’s Jemulpo-gu, headed by District Mayor Kim Chan-jin, is launching a Filial Support Allowance program aimed at promoting respect for senior citizens and strengthening intergenerational harmony.
The district announced that the allowance will be provided to households where three or more generations live together.
The new program integrates and streamlines the former filial piety allowances and senior respect subsidy programs carried out by Dong-gu and Jung-gu to help ease the financial burden on families caring for elderly relatives while promoting a culture of filial respect.
Eligible households are those in which three generations live together, including at least one family member aged 70 or older.
Inha University seeks participants for visiting Korean language education program
The Korean Language and Culture Center at Inha University is recruiting participating organizations for the 2026 Visiting Korean Language and Culture School.
The program, operated in partnership with Incheon Metropolitan City, provides education on proper Korean language use and Korean linguistic culture for citizens, public officials, youth, multicultural families, immigrant youth, foreign residents, and overseas Koreans.
Classes are conducted either through on-site visits by researchers from the center or online via the Zoom video conferencing platform.
Organizations interested in participating can submit an application by email through Aug. 14.
