Incheon Reports 79 Heat-Related Illnesses…Local Authorities Activate Stage 1 Heatwave Emergency Duty


Incheon City and its local districts have entered an emergency response phase to tackle the ongoing heatwave.

Since the heatwave warning was issued on August 3rd, the city has elevated the Comprehensive Heatwave Support Situation Room to Emergency Stage 1 of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.

The Heatwave Response Headquarters is organized into several specialized teams, including the Situation Coordination Team, Emergency Team, Rescue Team, and Medical Team. Additionally, each of the 10 districts is operating its own heatwave response team.

The city plans to continue its heatwave measures until the end of next month, including operating cooling centers, heatwave safety shelters, and umbrella rental stations.




Incheon Enhances Food Safety Measures for Summer with Special Hygiene Inspections


Incheon City is implementing special hygiene inspections for 527 small-scale food establishments to ensure safe food handling during the hot and humid summer months.

According to the city, these inspections will be conducted until August 19th in order to enhance food safety management. 

An official from Incheon City stated, "We will continue to improve hygiene standards at small food establishments through ongoing inspections and guidance, striving to create a safer food distribution environment for our citizens."




Incheon National University Campus Begins Enrollment for 'Citizen Life College' on August 12


Incheon National University's Lifelong Education Triversity will start accepting applications for the second semester of the '2024 Incheon Citizen Life College at Incheon National University Campus' on August 12.

The second semester is set to begin on August 19.

This semester will offer eight undergraduate programs and three master's programs designed to enhance the creativity and artistic skills of Incheon citizens. Courses will include Area Studies, Advanced Education in Culture and Arts, and Entrepreneurial and Professional Development.

Hae Byung Hoon, Director of Triversity stated, "We are dedicated to fostering personal growth among our students and providing meaningful experiences that engage with the community. Our goal is to establish our campus as a central hub for cultural and artistic education."





Incheon Dong-gu Launches Junior Driving School


Incheon Dong-gu is launching a 'Junior Driving School' for local elementary school students. 

The program is designed to enhance imagination and creativity by allowing students to tour the BMW Driving Center.

Through the Junior Driving School, students will explore and learn about the basic scientific principles behind automobiles. They will also engage in hands-on activities, including creating eco-friendly energy vehicles and experiencing ten different interactive exhibits.
