Incheon City Begins Large-Scale Data Transition for Launch of Geomdan-gu and Yeongjong-gu


Incheon City has announced that it has begun the process of transitioning administrative information system data in preparation for the administrative restructuring planned for 2026.

The city stated that it will conduct a service project to establish an information strategy plan by April next year, and will proceed with data conversion along with the construction of new information and communication infrastructure.

There are currently 397 types of administrative information systems in operation, and a wide range of data conversions will take place in line with the administrative restructuring, including changes to road name addresses, budget allocation, and local tax transfers.

In addition, work will be carried out to newly construct or expand and relocate information and communication infrastructure such as computer rooms, communication rooms, and websites.





Incheon City Sets 2025 Living Wage at 11,630 Won Per Hour


Incheon City has announced that it has determined the living wage for 2025 to be 11,630 won per hour through deliberation by the Living Wage Committee.

The newly decided living wage will be applied from January 1st of next year. The applicable targets are workers directly performing city duties among those belonging to Incheon City, public corporations and foundations, invested and contributed institutions, and city-commissioned organizations.

It is expected that approximately 1,100 workers will benefit from this decision.

An Incheon City official stated, "We decided on the living wage by respecting and communicating various opinions," adding, "We hope this decision will improve the quality of life for workers and contribute to revitalizing the local economy."







Incheon City Protects Citizens' Safety by Reinforcing Water Safety Facilities and Equipment


Incheon City has announced plans to reinforce water safety facilities and equipment with a total budget of 300 million won to enhance citizen safety in coastal areas such as mudflats and beaches.

Recently, the water leisure population has been increasing in the Incheon area, and as tourists from the metropolitan area are increasingly visiting not only Eurwangri Beach in Jung-gu, which is easily accessible from the metropolitan area, but also coastal and island areas in Ganghwa-gun and Ongjin-gun, water accidents and fatalities have been increasing every year.

The project includes the installation of thermal imaging closed-circuit television (CCTV), introduction of amphibious boats, four-wheel bikes, and unmanned rescue boards, operation of free life jacket rental stations, installation of lighting towers, LED display boards, marking of creek locations on the water, installation of watchtowers, and other new installations, repairs, and purchases requested by the Incheon Coast Guard.





Incheon City Holds Commemoration Week for 74th Anniversary of Incheon Landing Operation


The commemoration week for the 74th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation will be held throughout Incheon from the 6th to the 12th. This year's event is set to be the largest-scale celebration to date.

Incheon Metropolitan City stated, "This year's event focuses not only on revisiting the historical value of the Incheon Landing Operation but also on establishing Incheon as a 'global festival venue for peace and harmony.' In particular, it aims to build a framework for the commemorative event to be held as an international event starting next year."

Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok, based on the shared understanding of the value of the Incheon Landing Operation, plans to declare Incheon's joining of the 'International Cities of Peace' at the 74th anniversary commemoration ceremony of the Incheon Landing Operation on the 11th. The International Cities of Peace initiative aims to establish a culture of peace in local communities and develop peace policies and cultures through mutual cooperation among member countries.
