Incheon City to Open Animal Adoption Support Facility by 2026


Incheon City has announced plans to establish a pet welfare and culture center by June 2026. The center, located in Cheonghak-dong, Yeonsu-gu, will be remodeled from the old building of the Munhak Tunnel. 

With an investment of around 2.8 billion won, the center will feature adoption rooms, medical examination rooms, education rooms, and community rooms. 

It aims to provide shelter for abandoned animals at risk and facilitate adoptions after health check-ups, vaccinations, neutering, and animal registration. Furthermore, educational programs to prevent animal abuse and improve pet awareness will be offered.





Incheon City to Bring in Smart Fire Prevention System in Traditional Markets


Incheon City is set to introduce a smart fire prevention system to address electrical fire risks in traditional markets. 

The city will spend 11.6 billion won to install the system in 10,847 stores across 51 traditional markets. 

According to an Incheon City representative, the initiative will create an integrated control system to safeguard merchants and citizens from potential fire dangers.




Incheon to Open 2024 Agricultural and Specialty Products Market


Incheon City will open the “2024 Agricultural and Specialty Products Market” at City Hall Aetul Plaza on October 16 and 17. 

The market aims to support local farmers facing sales challenges and provides citizens with the opportunity to buy products at up to 30% discounts.

Incheon Choir Festival to Open at Songdo Art Center


The 10th Incheon Choir Festival will commence on the 24th and run until the 27th at the Songdo Art Center Incheon. 

Initially launched as the “Our Neighborhood Choir Festival” in 2012, the event was paused in 2019 and 2020 due to COVID-19. 

It has now become a prominent festival in Incheon, expanding the reach of choir music. An official from the Incheon City Chorale stated, “We will strive to ensure that the Incheon Choir Festival, created together with the citizens, continues for its 20th and 30th editions.”
