Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Hosts 'DMZ Historical Tour' for Foreign Residents
On September 6, the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) hosted a 'DMZ Historical Tour' event for foreign residents of the area.
The historical tour is the IFEZ’s representative history experience program, being conducted for the second time this year following the tour of Ganghwado in May.
The foreign participants in this historical tour directly experienced security and history by viewing North Korea through telescopes at the Odusan Unification Observatory, visiting tourist sites such as the Bridge of Freedom at Imjingak, and riding the Peace Gondola.
It is expected that through this historical tour, foreign residents will have an opportunity to learn about South Korea's relationship with North Korea and its history, as well as gain a better understanding of Korean culture.
Incheon City to Host Children's Food Safety Education Musical "Ding-dong's Dream World Journey"
Incheon Metropolitan City will be presenting a children's musical titled "Ding-dong's Dream World Journey" for food safety education from September 12 to October 18. The performances will take place at three elementary schools within the city and at the Incheon Seo-gu Youth Center theater. The target audience includes children from local daycare centers, kindergartens, and first and second-grade elementary school students.
This food safety education musical has been designed to utilize characters that children love, allowing them to learn about the dangers of sugary foods, salty foods, and unsafe food products in an easy and entertaining way.
Through the performance, children will naturally learn methods to protect their health. The educational approach is not lecture-based but instead involves singing and experiential activities, which is expected to enhance the effectiveness of the education.
Incheon City to Hold Camp Market Return Commemoration Event on the 11th; Park Development Briefing Also Planned
Incheon City has announced that it will hold a 'Camp Market Return Commemoration Event' on the 11th at various locations including the grass field of the former Bupyeong U.S. military base (Camp Market).
This event has been organized to commemorate the return of all areas of Camp Market and will be held in conjunction with the 74th Incheon Landing Operation Commemoration Week events.
The event will begin at 5 PM on the day with a performance by the Incheon City Youth Choir. Following this, an Incheon City official will explain the process of Camp Market's return, which will be followed by a public briefing on the park development plans.
Additionally, a celebratory performance is scheduled, featuring trot singer Kim Soo-chan, who is an Incheon City ambassador.
Incheon's Wonjeok and Manwol Mountain Tunnels to be Toll-Free for 4 Days During Chuseok Holiday
The Incheon City has announced detailed measures across 12 areas, including transportation and emergency medical services, ahead of the upcoming Chuseok holiday from September 14 to 18.
To facilitate smooth travel for those visiting their hometowns, the city will operate an additional 69 express and intercity buses during this period. Ferry services will also increase by 17 trips compared to regular schedules.
Furthermore, from September 15 to 18, toll fees will be waived for all vehicles using the Wonjeok and Manwol Mountain Tunnel for four days.
An Incheon official stated, "We will operate a comprehensive situation room during the holiday to ensure citizens have a safe and comfortable holiday." They added, "Various information will be provided through the Incheon internet homepage.“
