Incheon City Hosts the “2024 Incheon Park Festa,” a Global Park City Event
Incheon has announced that it will hold the “2024 Incheon Park Festa,” focusing on urban parks, at the Sorae Wetland Ecological Park in October.
This event is organized to develop the Sorae area into a world-class park representing the metropolitan region.
Incheon, as a global city, plans to elevate the status of its parks through this festival and seeks to explore the transition to a park city together with its citizens.
Participation in the “Sorae Festa” can be registered via the QR code on the poster or through the official media accounts.
“Incheon Dream Run,” the 1st Incheon City Vertical Marathon, to be Held on the 19th
The 1st Incheon City Vertical Marathon, “Incheon DREAMRUN TO THE SKY,” will take place at POSCO Tower in Songdo on October 19th.
This event, organized by the Incheon Sports Council to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 2014 Asian Games and Para Games, is sponsored by Incheon City and POSCO Tower in Songdo.
This competition involves climbing a total of 1,566 stairs from the 1st to the 60th floor of POSCO Tower in Songdo. It will have a competition for 500 participants and a non-competition category for another 500, and anyone aged 4 and older, regardless of gender or age, can participate.
The participation fee is 10,000 won, and participants will receive a T-shirt, socks, a gym bag, and snacks. Finishers will be awarded a medal and a completion certificate.
Registration for the competition will be open from 10 AM on October 4th to 8 PM on October 8th on the official event website.
Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Launches Citizen Participation Living Lab for IFEZ Smart City
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority recently announced that it has begun full-scale demonstrations of the “IFEZ Smart City Citizen Participation Living Lab” project at Incheon Startup Park.
The “IFEZ Smart City Citizen Participation Living Lab” project, launched in 2023, is divided into two categories: the “Urban Problem Solving” type, which identifies urban issues experienced by citizens through a participation group, and the “Demonstration Support Living Lab,” where citizens actively participate in testing and improving innovative technologies and services from companies.
An IFEZ official stated that through this Living Lab operation, they aim to establish a foundation for IFEZ to develop into a smart city demonstration platform.
Incheon to Hold “Traditional Market Day” from October 1st to 12th
The 9th “Traditional Market Day” event, filled with various benefits such as discounts on high-quality agricultural, marine, and livestock products, as well as refunds on Onnuri gift certificates, will be held from October 1st to 12th.
This event is organized by the Incheon Merchants Association and supported by Incheon City to revitalize traditional markets and stabilize livelihoods. It will take place in 15 traditional markets in the city during the “Incheon Sale Festa” period.
An Incheon City official stated that through this event, citizens will have the opportunity to purchase fresh and affordable agricultural, marine, and livestock products. The city expects that revitalizing the use of traditional markets will have a positive impact on the local economy. The city hopes for the interest and participation of many citizens.
