IFEZ Achieves ‘Best’ Rating for Six Years Running


The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) has achieved the highest rating for six consecutive years in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s performance evaluation. 

The IFEZ received the top S grade in the 2023 national free economic zone performance evaluation review.

The IFEZ was highly rated for its strategic industry development and diverse investment attraction efforts. 

Songdo International City, in particular, was acknowledged for its expansion of the bio-cluster and major achievements such as being selected as a Global Bio Campus by the WHO and hosting the World Health City Forum.





Major APEC Meetings to Take Place in Incheon Next Year


Incheon is set to host significant APEC meetings in 2025. The city will be the venue for the 3rd Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM3) and five Ministerial Meetings, in conjunction with the APEC Summit in November.

Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok highlighted Incheon’s excellent MICE facilities and cultural capabilities, promising a prestigious and successful event. The meetings are expected to draw global attention to Incheon.




Incheon Landscape Record Photo Exhibition to Feature Lecture by Kim Yong-kwan


The Incheon Landscape Record Photo Exhibition, showcasing the scenery of buildings, nature, and humans, will be held at Sangsang Platform. Incheon City announced that on the 9th, architectural photographer Kim Yong-kwan will give a lecture in conjunction with the exhibition.


Kim Yong-kwan, a renowned architectural photographer who has captured works by famous architects both domestically and internationally, is the first Korean to receive the Architectural Photographer Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA).


The lecture, titled ‘Record of Relationships, Value of Records’, will cover various topics including the role and impact of photographic records, architectural records as part of living subjects and landscapes, expressing the true value of architecture, recording architecture with expressions, and encouraging participation in the value of records.





New Responsive Website for Baengnyeong and Daecheong Islands Launched by Incheon City


Incheon City has launched a new responsive website for Baengnyeong and Daecheong Islands, enhancing accessibility for global users. 

These islands, the northernmost in the West Sea, are domestic candidates for UNESCO Global Geoparks.

The new website, available in Korean and English, aims to meet the requirements for UNESCO Global Geopark designation and improve user convenience. 

The site is linked with the ‘Incheon Island Portal (i-sum)’, providing comprehensive information to meet the needs of tourists interested in Incheon islands.
