Incheon Free Economic Zone to Hold 21st Anniversary Celebration on the 15th
The Incheon Economic Free Zone (IFEZ) will hold its '21st Anniversary Celebration' on October 15th at the Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Incheon, marking both the 60th Incheon Citizens' Day and the 21st anniversary of IFEZ's establishment.
Planned around the keyword 'IFEZ 2040 Vision', this event will serve as a forum to deliberate on the blueprint and strategies for IFEZ's next 20 years with experts, and to share these with citizens from all walks of life.
Additionally, to widely promote the history and vision of the Incheon Free Economic Zone to citizens, Gyeongwonjae will be open to the public for three days starting from Citizens' Day.
An IFEZ official stated, "We hope many citizens will participate in and fully enjoy the 21st anniversary celebration as we prepare for a new leap forward towards 2040."
2024 IFEZ Korean Speaking Contest for Foreigners Showcases Top Korean Language Skills
The Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) announced that it held the '2024 IFEZ Korean Speaking Contest' for foreign residents of Incheon City on the 11th at G-Tower in Songdo International City.
This contest, aimed at promoting Korean culture and the excellence of Hangul, marked its fourth year since its inception in 2021.
The judges comprehensively evaluated expression, content composition, and fluency, selecting the following winners:
△ Grand Prize: Jahongir (Uzbekistan) for his presentation on "My Life in Korea"
△ Excellence Awards: Hwang Hilal (Türkiye) and Jeyron (Philippines)
△ Encouragement Awards: Excel Nnamdi (Nigeria), Doris (Hong Kong), and Nguyen Thanh Binh (Vietnam)
8th Ae-in (愛仁) Debate to be Held on October 25th at Sangsang Platform
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host the '8th Ae-in (愛仁) Debate' on October 25th at the Indoor Wave Hall of Sangsang Platform, with about 400 citizens including relevant experts in attendance. The theme of the debate is 'Incheon, a World-Class Super City Where Citizens are Happy!'
This debate is designed as an open discussion platform where citizens can directly participate and share their opinions on Incheon City's citizen happiness policies. These policies aim to overcome the crisis of low birth rates and a super-aged society, including '1 Billion Plus I-Dream', 'Child Plus House Dream', and 'Incheon I-Pass'.
Citizen proposals presented during the discussion will be shared on-site. Outstanding proposals will be selected, with key results announced and plans made to reflect them in future policies.
'2024 Baedari Book Festival' to be Held on October 19th
Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host the '2024 Baedari Book Festival' on October 19th at 11 AM in the Baedari Used Bookstore Street area.
The 'Baedari Book Festival', which has been held in collaboration with Baedari bookstores since 2019, is a multi-faceted reading culture event taking place in the Baedari Used Bookstore Street, known for its unique analog ambiance and cultural atmosphere.
An Incheon City official stated, "We hope that in this clear autumn weather, visitors will come with family, friends, or loved ones to experience the diverse charms of books that can only be felt in Baedari Used Bookstore Street, and create good memories."
