Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Declares IFEZ 2040 Vision
Marking its 21st anniversary, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority held a commemorative event on the afternoon of the 15th at the Gyeongwonjae Ambassador Incheon. During the event, they announced the “IFEZ 2040 Vision Declaration,” presenting their vision and aspirations to transform the Incheon Free Economic Zone into one of the “Global Top 10 Cities.”
At the event, they reflected on the past 21 years of IFEZ, which began with the innovative idea of reclaiming land from the sea to create cities. This vision led to the remarkable development of Songdo, Yeongjong, and Cheongna into cities equipped with world-class business infrastructure. Additionally, they presented a future vision for the next 20 years to seize new opportunities in response to the rapidly changing global economic environment and the shift in urban development paradigms.
Commissioner Yoon Won-seok expressed confidence, saying that in the new 2040, IFEZ will rise as a global business innovation hub and join the ranks of the world’s top 10 cities.
Starting 2025, All Incheon Citizens Aged 65 and Older to Receive Free Vaccinations for Shingles
Starting next year, free shingles vaccinations will be offered to all Incheon citizens aged 65 and older.
Incheon expects that approximately 117,000 people out of the 510,000 residents aged 65 and older will receive the shingles vaccination next year, excluding those who have already been vaccinated or are unwilling.
In this case, the annual vaccination budget of 15.4 billion KRW will be shared equally between the city and the districts.
Incheon Holds an Excellent Product Exhibition in Celebration of Small Business Owners’ Day
In celebration of Small Business Owners’ Day on November 5th, Incheon announced that it will hold the “2024 Incheon Small Business’ Excellent Product Exhibition” on Wolmi Culture Street from October 19th to 20th to commemorate Small Business Owners’ Day on November 5th.
This event has been organized to promote excellent local products to citizens and tourists and to raise awareness of small business products.
Organized by the Incheon Small Business Association, this event will feature over 50 local small businesses. It provides citizens the opportunity to directly experience and purchase a variety of high-quality products, such as cosmetics and kitchenware, at reasonable prices.
Incheon Accelerates Overseas Expansion in Blockchain
Incheon announced that it will actively support the overseas expansion of Incheon blockchain companies by participating in a global-scale information and communication technology exhibition.
Incheon will participate in the “GITEX EXPAND NORTH STAR 2024” in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from October 13th to 16th, and will operate a dedicated promotional booth for Incheon blockchain companies within the blockchain specialized section.
This initiative is being carried out as part of the “Incheon Blockchain Technology Innovation Support Center” project, which Incheon City secured earlier this year through a public project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
