Incheon City Establishes Agricultural and Livestock Distribution Corporation by 2026


Incheon City is moving forward with plans to establish a public corporation to manage the operation of the Namchon and Samsan Agricultural Wholesale Markets, which are currently run directly by the city. 

The city announced that it aims to launch the proposed "Incheon Agricultural and Livestock Distribution Corporation" by February 2026.

The planned capital for the corporation is set at a total of 796.6 billion won, which includes 792.6 billion won in kind and 4 billion won in cash. The organization is expected to have a workforce of 67 employees.

Incheon City will conduct a feasibility study through the Evaluation Institute of Regional Public Corporation, under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, in the first half of next year. Following this, the city plans to hold an informational meeting and establish the necessary ordinances in the latter half of the year.




Incheon City Launches Nationwide Contest for Waste Landfill Policy Promotion


Incheon Metropolitan City is organizing a nationwide contest to enhance public understanding and interest in the metropolitan landfill policy.

Located in Seo-gu, Incheon, the landfill has been operating since 1992, managing waste generated by Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do for over 30 years.

As a result, the 3 million residents of Incheon, particularly those living nearby, have endured significant hardships and suffering due to the landfill's operation, and they are urgently seeking a prompt resolution to this issue.

The issues surrounding the metropolitan landfill are not solely a concern for Incheon; they affect approximately 26 million residents in the Greater Seoul Area. Therefore, public attention is critically needed to address this matter.





Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education Distributes 'Himchani' and 'Jaramyi' KakaoTalk Emojis for Free


The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education will distribute free KakaoTalk emojis featuring its promotional characters, "Himchani" and "Jaramyi," starting November 1 at 2 PM. The first 37,500 users who add the Incheon Education Office’s KakaoTalk channel will receive the emojis.

According to the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education, the emoji set consists of 16 animated designs featuring various expressions and actions of Himchani and Jaramyi. These emojis convey warm messages of encouragement and praise for the citizens using them.

Users can automatically receive the emojis by searching for "Incheon Education Office" in the KakaoTalk search bar, and they will be available for free use for 30 days.





Incheon City Develops Hwangeo Neighborhood Park as a Tourism Hub for the Gyeongin ARA Waterway


Incheon City is transforming the northern area of Gyeongin ARA Waterway Bridge into a neighborhood park, a key facility in the "Gyeyang ARA-on" project aimed at developing the Gyeyang-gu region into a tourist attraction.

This area primarily consists of natural green space, with most land used for rice and vegetable fields. To the south, there is a Hwang-eo statue plaza and Gyulhyeon port, while low-rise residential areas are concentrated to the north.

The city plans to invest 27.1 billion won to create Hwangeo Neighborhood Park by June 2026, featuring an outdoor stage, plaza, water play area, parking facilities, and green spaces.
