Incheon Urban Corporation Kicks Off Urban Development at Dong Incheon Station, Aiming for Completion by 2029

Incheon Urban Corporation (iH), the implementing agency for the urban development project around Dong Incheon Station on the Gyeongin Line, announced plans to begin a basic survey for compensation items by the end of this year.

iH is currently conducting a feasibility study for new investment projects and is expected to receive approval for a new project proposal from the Incheon City Council in the first half of next year.

Following this, the corporation plans to initiate a survey and design service for the permitting procedures of the implementation plan.

The area around Dong Incheon Station was once one of the bustling commercial districts in Incheon until the early 1990s, but it has rapidly declined as it lost ground to new urban areas such as Songdo and Cheongna International City. Incheon City plans to develop the area into a mixed-use district combining residential, commercial, and office functions through the public development efforts of Incheon Urban Corporation.
