Incheon Free Economic Zone Companies Join Forces to Support Study Rooms in the Old Downtown
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority has completed a project to support study rooms for children and teenagers in the Old Downtown, in collaboration with companies located within the economic zone.
This project is a corporate social responsibility initiative that uses company donations to renovate study rooms for families in the Old Downtown facing financial difficulties. The renovations included changing the wallpaper, flooring, and lighting, as well as providing educational materials to create new study spaces.
In collaboration with the ChildFund Korea Incheon Headquarters, the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority raised a total of 87 million KRW in donations this year to carry out renovation work for the study rooms of 15 households with students in the Old Downtown.
Ganghwa-gun Completes Changhu Port Fishing Village New Deal Project
On December 18th, Ganghwa-gun in Incheon held a ceremony to mark the completion of the Fishing Village New Deal project at Changhu Port in Hajeom-myeon, Changhu-ri.
Since 2020, Ganghwa-gun has invested a total of 9.4 billion KRW to expand the lighters wharf, create a floating dock, and build a shared storage facility, improving the outdated port infrastructure.
Additionally, a multi-purpose center was constructed, featuring a fish market and a fisherman's office, along with rest areas for both residents and visitors.
Incheon City's Governance Receives 'Positive Evaluation'
Incheon Metropolitan City conducted a "Citizen Satisfaction Survey on Governance and Communication," targeting 1,000 Incheon residents aged 19 and over to gather basic data for implementing citizen-centered governance.
The survey results revealed that more than half of the citizens (55.4%) gave a positive evaluation of the overall governance of Incheon City.
The main reasons for the positive evaluation were cited as "efforts to communicate with citizens (23.0%)" and "policies aimed at improving the quality of citizens' lives (21.0%)."
The survey, which covered 1,000 citizens aged 19 and over from all 10 districts of Incheon, was conducted online and through telephone interviews (CATI). The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
Incheon Foundation for Women and Family Holds 2024 "Children's Love Dream Center" Performance Report Meeting
On December 17th, the Incheon Foundation for Women and Family held the 2024 performance report meeting for the Children's Love Dream Center.
The "Children's Love Dream Center" is a community childcare and shared caregiving space designed to support family-based childcare, where children aged 0-5 and their caregivers can enjoy play together in a convenient location close to home.
This year, approximately 308,000 people visited the center, marking a 1.4% increase in usage compared to last year. The highest monthly attendance was recorded in January, with 25,609 users.
