Island Kindergarten Reopens After Temporary Closure Due to Enrollment Shortage


The Incheon Southern Office of Education announced plans to reopen the kindergarten at Incheon Nambu Elementary School’s Ijak Branch on Daeeijak -do in Ongjin County.

The kindergarten had suspended operations in March last year due to a lack of applicants. However, it will reopen after confirming the enrollment of a 3-year-old student this year.

During a recent site visit, the education office inspected facilities, prepared educational programs, and discussed diverse support measures, including providing teaching materials and equipment.

An official stated, “We will work closely with the local community to ensure the stable operation of the kindergarten, prioritizing the safety and educational rights of young children.”







Incheon Port Authority Enhances Safety Checks Ahead of Lunar New Year


The Incheon Port Authority (IPA), in collaboration with the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, will implement safety measures to prevent maritime accidents during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Tomorrow (15th), both organizations will hold a safety inspection meeting with maritime and port experts to discuss safety strategies for ships entering and departing Incheon Port.

From January 20 to 24, the IPA and the Incheon Port Facility Management Center will jointly inspect various mooring facilities, including coastal passenger piers, and carry out maintenance and safety reinforcements.






Jung-gu Recycles Banners to Create 850 Eco-Friendly Bags


Incheon’s Jung-gu successfully carried out the 2024 Banner Recycling Support Project, contributing to environmental preservation and carbon neutrality.

The project repurposes used outdoor banners and illegal advertisements collected during city cleanup initiatives to create eco-friendly products such as reusable bags.

In 2024, Jung-gu collected 15,668 illegal banners and recycled 7,383 of them, producing 850 eco-bags in the process.






Yeonsu District Opens Registration for Health Exercise Programs


The Songdo Health Support Center in Yeonsu-gu will begin accepting registrations for its February Health Exercise Programs starting tomorrow (15th) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Running from February 3 to April 30, the 12-week program offers tailored sessions, including:

•Yoga, Pilates, and strength stretching for seniors over 60

•Strength stretching for adults

•Yoga for adults

•Strength training exercises for adults

Residents can register through the Yeonsu Culture Portal from January 15 to 17.
