Incheon Ramps Up Efforts to Become a Child-Friendly City by 2025


Incheon Metropolitan City is set to launch various initiatives this year to establish a child-friendly city. The city aims to create an environment where all children can enjoy a happy future while expanding policies that strengthen children's rights and welfare.

Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok stated, “We will continue to implement child-friendly policies across all areas of city governance to ensure that every child is respected and can grow up happily.”







Incheon to Launch Mosquito and Tick Monitoring in April


The Incheon Metropolitan City Institute of Public Health and Environment has announced plans to expand its mosquito and tick monitoring program from April to November.

Starting this year, the institute will participate in the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency’s Regional Climate Change Vector Monitoring Hub initiative.

Notably, the program will shift its focus from urban areas to migratory bird habitats, enhancing surveillance for foreign mosquito species entering the country.

Based on the collected data, the city will also distribute preventive guidelines to help residents engage in outdoor activities more safely.







Incheon Agricultural Technology Center Offers Free Soil Testing for Optimal Fertilizer Use


With the peak farming season approaching, the Incheon Metropolitan City Agricultural Technology Center is offering free soil testing services to local farmers.

The service helps determine nutrient deficiencies or excesses in the soil, allowing for precise fertilizer application. This initiative aims to support high-quality agricultural production while reducing farming costs.

To apply for a fertilizer prescription, farmers should collect subsoil samples from five to six spots per plot and submit them to the Agricultural Technology Center for analysis.






Call for Applications: Musical Production Grant for the 75th Anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation


Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Foundation for Arts & Culture have announced a public call for proposals to support the production and performance of an original musical commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation.

This initiative aims to highlight the historical significance of the operation while fostering the development of locally rooted performance content. 

Applications will be accepted online from April 1 to April 21, 2025.

The selected musical will be staged as a special event during the anniversary week, with a maximum funding of KRW 245 million available for a single production. The project seeks creative interpretations of the Incheon Landing Operation, incorporating the city’s historical and cultural identity.
