Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Takes First Step in Global Smart City Cooperation with India


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZ) explored ways to spread its smart city model in Mumbai and Noida, India, and laid the groundwork for global cooperation between the two cities. 

The IFEZ organized a smart city cooperation delegation and participated in international smart city events held in Mumbai and Noida for three days starting April 7.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the Korea-India global partnership through discussions with smart city officials from Indian state governments and promoting mutual cooperation and technological exchange with prestigious Indian engineering schools. 

In the future, both sides plan to promote practical cooperation in the field of smart cities based on the expertise of each institution. 




Incheon Launches ‘Incheon Local Heritage System’ for the First Time This Year


Incheon Metropolitan City is launching the 'Incheon Local Heritage System' for the first time this year to protect various tangible and intangible heritage items that are not included in the national heritage system and to transform them into unique historical and cultural assets of Incheon.

The 'Incheon Local Heritage System' is designed to preserve, manage, and utilize events, people, and everyday stories that have remained in Incheon’s history—created by its citizens—as local heritage, and to preserve them as treasures to be passed on to future generations 100 years from now.

An official from Incheon City stated, “We hope to select various local heritage items that reflect Incheon’s identity and spirit, increase civic pride, and widely promote the history and culture of Incheon.”







Incheon Urban History Museum Launches Weekend Family Education Program, ‘Learning Incheon History Through Hands-On Activities’


Starting April 26, the Incheon Urban History Museum, a branch of the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum, will host a weekend family education program titled ‘Learning Incheon History Through Hands-On Activities.’ The program will focus on the birth and historical background of the Suinsun Narrow Gauge Railway.

This program aims to educate participants about the Suinsun Narrow Gauge Railway, which began operations in 1937 and connected Incheon and Suwon for over 50 years until 1995. It will also explore the impact the railway had on the lives of Incheon’s residents during that period.

The program will be held twice a month on the fourth Saturday of each month, in the morning and afternoon, for families with children aged 7 years old to 6th grade. A maximum of 15 families per session will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.





Incheon Grand Park Launches Forest Therapy Program for Cancer Survivors


The Incheon Grand Park Office is launching a forest therapy program called ‘Goodbye Fatigue’ to support the psychological and physical recovery of cancer survivors and their families.

‘Goodbye Fatigue’ is a program designed to relieve persistent fatigue and stress commonly experienced after cancer treatment through nature-based activities. It is being run in collaboration with the Incheon Region Cancer Survivor Integrated Support Center.

The program will be held once a week from May to June, for a total of eight sessions, at Gwanmosan in Incheon Grand Park, with three classes of 15 participants each.
