Incheon Steps Up Preparations for 2025 APEC Meetings


Incheon Metropolitan City is ramping up its preparations to host key APEC meetings as part of the decentralized schedule for 2025.

From July 26 to August 15, the city will host the Third Senior Officials’ Meeting, along with a series of high-level ministerial meetings on digital transformation, food security, women and the economy, and anti-corruption. 

In October, Incheon will also serve as the venue for the Finance Ministers’ Meeting and the Structural Reform Ministers’ Meeting.

In total, more than 5,000 participants-including ministers and key representatives from APEC economies—are expected to visit the city during these events.








Incheon Recruits “Meals of Compassion” Partner Restaurants to Support Children in Need


Incheon Metropolitan City has begun recruiting partner restaurants for its new “Meals of Compassion” initiative, which provides affordable meals to children from low-income families.

Participating restaurants will offer meals at discounted prices in line with the city’s meal voucher support rate of 9,500 won per meal. 

The difference between the actual menu price and the support rate

will be treated as a charitable donation, with official donation receipts issued.

The city will provide partner restaurants with signage recognizing their participation in the “Meals of Compassion” program and may also recommend them for commendations under its meal support initiative for children in need.




 


Incheon Opens 4th Call for Metropolitan Landfill Replacement Site


Incheon Metropolitan City has announced the fourth call for site proposals for a new “Resource Circulation Park,” a key part of plans to replace the metropolitan landfill.

The call for proposals will run for 150 days until October 10.

This round follows a previous unsuccessful bid and reflects decisions made by a four-party consultative body. 

To encourage more participation, application criteria have been significantly eased.

The initiative is led by the Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation under the Ministry of Environment.

Incheon Delivers Produce Packages to Support Vulnerable Households


Incheon Metropolitan City held a ceremony yesterday to distribute produce packages to vulnerable residents.

The event is part of the Sharing Love with Korean Produce initiative organized by the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation.

A total of 400 food packages will be delivered to low-income households and social welfare facilities through the Incheon Food Donation Center.

Each package includes locally grown produce such as rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and more.






Incheon Hosts AI Training for Local Tourism Businesses


To help local tourism businesses strengthen their competitiveness, Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Tourism Organization will hold the “2025 Digital Talent Training Program” from May 23 to June 20.

The program consists of five sessions focused on practical applications of cutting-edge digital tools like generative AI and big data.

Enrollment is open to tourism industry professionals, job seekers, and local residents alike.





Incheon Jung-gu Publishes Guide to Property Tax Exemptions


Jung-gu in Incheon has released an informational leaflet titled “Useful Guide to 2025 Acquisition Tax Exemptions – Housing and Vehicles.”

The leaflet provides detailed information on the updated 2025 acquisition tax policies, including tax reductions for housing and vehicles, conditions for retroactive taxation, and the documents required for acquisition tax declaration.

About 2,000 copies will be distributed to tax offices, vehicle registration departments, administrative centers, and legal offices to help residents better understand their rights.
