Incheon Election Commission Delivers Booklet-Style Campaign Brochures to Households


The Incheon Metropolitan Election Commission announced that it will deliver booklet-style campaign brochures, submitted by presidential candidates for the 21st presidential election, to about 1.4 million households in Incheon by May 20. Leaflet-style brochures and voter guides will be delivered by May 24.

Considering that postal delivery usually takes 1 to 2 days, households can expect to receive the booklet-style brochures by May 22.

The second page of the booklet includes information disclosed by the candidates, such as their assets, military service, tax records, and criminal history. If a candidate submits fewer brochures than needed, the Commission will send out only the number received and send the mandatory candidate information separately for the remaining households.

The Incheon Election Commission urged voters to read the brochures carefully and check their polling station location in the voter guide before participating in the election.







Incheon Offers Parent Education Program to Support Reclusive Youth


The Incheon Youth Future Center, under the Incheon Social Service Center, will launch its first parent education program titled “Guardian Training for Reclusive Youth.” The program will run every Tuesday for six weeks until June 24.


This initiative aims to help solve the issue of youth isolation by focusing on parent-child relationships.

Applications for the first session are open until May 26. The Center also plans to hold a second session between August and September.

The program focuses on helping parents restore their relationships with their children and rediscover their own identities, with the hope of contributing to solutions for reclusive youth.







Incheon Free Economic Zone Seeks Neutral Name for Third Link Bridge


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced a naming contest for the Third Link Bridge, which is set to open later this year.

Submissions will be accepted from May 21 to June 3 via the official Incheon City website.

The contest aims to select two candidate names that reflect shared values while excluding direct references to Yeongjong or Cheongna.

The Third Link Bridge is being constructed with a total project cost of 770.9 billion. It will span 4.68 kilometers, with a width of 30 meters and six lanes. The bridge will feature a 180-meter-high observation tower—the tallest in the world—along with a waterfront walking trail, making it a unique experience-oriented and tourism-focused bridge.







Incheon Chamber Delivers “Economic Sovereignty Agenda” to Presidential Candidates


The Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced that it has delivered the “Incheon Economic Sovereignty Agenda” to the presidential candidates of both the Democratic Party and the People Power Party.

The agenda outlines policy directions desired by the local business community to promote new economic growth in Incheon.

In partnership with the Incheon Economic Organizations Council and the Incheon Citizens’ Coalition for Economic Justice, the Chamber proposed three main goals: restoring business vitality, building growth foundations, and strengthening global competitiveness.

It also includes 10 key projects, 51 detailed tasks, and the 10 most urgent wishes of Incheon’s business community for the next administration. The Chamber presented the agenda to the local offices of both political parties and explained the intent behind the policy proposals.







Incheon Port Authority Signs Sister Port MOU with Port of Los Angeles


The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Port of Los Angeles during a recent visit to the United States, establishing a sister port relationship.

Under this agreement, the two ports will cooperate in areas such as attracting refrigerated cargo, exchanging logistics data and technology, and developing port infrastructure.

IPA plans to strengthen ties with the Port of Los Angeles to enhance the stability of trans-Pacific shipping routes and actively attract high-value cargo and new freight volume.







Incheon Wins Two Gold Medals in Pre-Events for National Youth Sports Festival


At the track and field pre-events of the 54th National Youth Sports Festival, the Incheon team won two gold medals and two bronze medals.

In the U-15 mixed 1,600-meter relay final held on May 17–18 at Gimhae Stadium in Gyeongnam, the Incheon team won its first gold medal with a time of 3 minutes 40.66 seconds.

With these early victories, the Incheon delegation is now preparing to compete in the main events of the festival, which will take place across Gyeongnam from May 24 to 27.






Ganghwa Students Participate in Smart Marine Farming Camp at University


The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will operate a “Smart Marine Farm Camp” for middle and high school students in Ganghwa, as part of the Ganghwa Education Development Special Zone project.

The camp will run from May to December at Ghent University Global Campus and aims to train future talent by combining marine bioresources and advanced science technologies.

Participants will take part in various programs, including algae and microalgae cultivation experiments, hands-on training with smart sensors for automated control systems, and data-driven environmental monitoring projects.






Michuhol District Holds Anti-Smoking Education for Cafes and Snack Shops


The Michuhol District Health Center conducted a no-smoking education session for snack shop and cafe owners at the district office’s main conference room.

The session aimed to create a healthier smoke-free environment and protect the health of both workers and customers.

Topics included regulations on no-smoking signs, standards for setting up designated smoking areas, and common violations. The session also covered the health effects of smoking and how quitting smoking can bring about positive changes in society.
