Incheon City Provides Multilingual Tax Guides for Foreign Residents
Incheon Metropolitan City has published and distributed a new tax guide for foreign residents.
The guide aims to help foreigners living in Incheon better understand and pay local taxes.
It is available in six languages including Korean, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese, and Uzbek.
The leaflet explains local taxes such as resident tax and automobile tax. It also provides clear instructions on how to pay them and outlines possible consequences for late payments.
To make the guide more accessible, the city plans to distribute it at locations frequently visited by foreign residents, such as multicultural family support centers and foreign resident service centers.
Incheon City Offers Special Course on Social Economy for Teenagers
Incheon City has launched a special program to raise awareness of social values among teenagers.
As part of the "I Share Value" campaign, the city is offering a four-week course on social economy.
The course will begin on May 19 and will be held at Songdo High School.
Around 30 students from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Songdo High School will take part in the course.
The program includes activities such as games to understand social economy, examples of social enterprise start-ups, and an introduction to ESG management.
The goal is to help students build a strong understanding of the social economy and develop a positive mindset about it.
Incheon City Has Provided 4,892 Free Legal Consultations for Small Business Owners
Incheon Metropolitan City has provided a total of 4,892 free legal consultations for small business owners since January 2019.These services were provided through the Incheon Small Business Support Center.
The city handled over a thousand consultations on unfair trade practices, helping business owners who had suffered damages in dealings with franchise headquarters or parent companies.
Another major focus was commercial lease issues, with nearly 4,000 consultations offered on matters such as key money, contract termination and renewal, restoration costs, deposits, and rent.
Incheon’s efforts go beyond simple advice. The city also offers tailored support to help small business owners resolve real-world challenges.
Incheon is Hosting a Traditional Rice Planting Experience at Incheon Grand Park
Incheon Grand Park will hold a hands-on rice planting event on May 24.
The event will give youth and citizens in Incheon a chance to experience traditional farming together.
The rice paddies are located in a wetland area inside the park.
This space is not only used for farming. It also serves as a vital wetland that supports aquatic life and migratory birds and helps preserve the Jangsu Stream.
The Traditional Rice Planting Day has been held since 2012.
This year, about 200 Incheon citizens are expected to join the event in five rice paddies that cover a total of 2,600 square meters.
Bugae 1-dong Safe Neighborhood Project is now complete in Bupyeong-gu
Bupyeong-gu held a ceremony and site tour on May 19 to mark the completion of the Safe Neighborhood Project in Bugae 1-dong.
The project focused on improving safety in older and poorly lit alleyways.
New features include illuminated address signs, repainted gates, safety mirrors, parking lot lighting, wall-mounted lamps, etiquette signs, and boards to prevent illegal dumping.
The project followed the CPTED model, or Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design, to enhance residential safety.
Yeonsu-gu begins in-depth survey of single-person households
Yeonsu-gu has launched a comprehensive survey targeting around 400 low-income single-person households
The goal is to identify people at risk of social isolation and prevent lonely deaths. The survey will continue until June 30.
It includes 20 questions on household conditions, isolation risk, policy needs, and the support systems available.
Based on the results, Yeonsu-gu will identify high-risk individuals and connect them with customized public and private welfare services.
