Incheon Launches First-in-the-nation. Youth Exchange Soccer Program Involving North Korean Defector Youth


Incheon Metropolitan City announced it will begin (September startthe nation’s first North–South youth soccer program that brings together children of North Korean defectors with South Korean youth. The program offers joint soccer training and friendly matches. Beyond sports, it aims to foster mutual understanding, cooperation, and a sense of community. The program is open to 30 elementary-aged children of North Korean defectors, and applications are being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the Incheon Hana Center until August 29.






Incheon Cultural Foundation opens applications for Seed:ART youth arts startup support


The Incheon Cultural Foundation is accepting applications (from August 13 to August 27) for its youth arts startup support program, Seed:ART (Seed for Art). Targeting 30 prospective cultural-arts entrepreneurs in Incheon, the program seeks to help refine the market viability of art-based ideas and boost business development skills. Eligible applicants include youths aged 19 to 39 who either reside in Incheon, are currently attending or have graduated from a school in Incheon, or who have participated in cultural-arts activities in Incheon at least twice.






Incheon Women’s New Job Center concluded 2025 Women Entrepreneurs Networking Day


The Incheon Women & Family Foundation, through its Incheon Women's New Job Center, in partnership with the Namdong Industrial Complex New Job Center, successfully held the 2025 Women Entrepreneurs Networking Day on August 18–19. The two-day event drew over 40 women entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs in Incheon. It featured expert lectures and wellness programs that combined networking with personal growth. Building on this event, the New Job Center plans to strengthen local women-entrepreneur networks and enhance the capacity of female entrepreneurs and prospective founders.






Incheon Economic Research Association will host Third Seminar on “Unplanned Success: The Korean Wave”


The Incheon Economic Research Association will hold its third seminar of 2025 on August 21 (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m. in the conference room on the second floor of the Incheon Research Institute. The session will feature a presentation by Chief Researcher Yoon-ji Kim at the Korea Eximbank’s Overseas Economic Research Institute, under the theme “Unplanned Success: The Korean Wave.” The seminar will go beyond showcasing achievements in the cultural-content industry. It aims to explore strategic directions for Incheon to boost urban competitiveness by leveraging cultural content to expand lifestyle and cultural infrastructure that resonates with the global MZ generation.





Incheon Bupyeong District holds disability culture and arts festival ‘Show Myself – Season 8’ on September 3


The Bupyeong Disabled Welfare Center will host the 2025 Disability Culture and Arts Festival “Show Myself – Season 8” on September 3 at the Dalnuri Theater of the Bupyeong Art Center.

The festival provides a stage for people with disabilities to showcase their artistic talents, while also creating an inclusive space where everyone, regardless of disability, can come together and enjoy the performances.

Admission is free and open to all, with both advance reservations and on-site registration available.





Ganghwa-gun provides financial support for elderly residents undergoing knee replacement surgery


Ganghwa-gun in Incheon is running a program that helps senior citizens access knee replacement surgery, encouraging local residents to apply.

The program is available to low-income residents aged 60 or older who need knee replacement surgery. Applicants must submit a support application form along with the required documents to the public health center prior to their operation.

The program provides up to 1.2 million won per knee, or up to 2.4 million won for surgeries on both knees, based on the insured cost of the procedure.
