Incheon City to launch joint crackdown on 32 private lending companies


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will conduct a joint intensive inspection of private lending companies from October 15 to 24 to prevent citizens from becoming victims of illegal private financing.

This inspection will be jointly carried out by the city, county and district loan management officials, and the National Police Agency. It will target 32 private lending companies located in Incheon. In particular, companies near major commercial areas where demand for living and business funds is high, and those that have not been inspected for a long time, will be the main focus.

As of the first half of 2025, there are 436 registered private lending companies in Incheon. During the first half, the city carried out inspections and found violations such as exceeding legal interest rates, false or exaggerated advertising, and missing contract details, and took corrective administrative actions.





Incheon City to provide moving support of up to 400,000 won for young newcomers


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will continue to provide moving cost support of up to 400,000 won in the second half of the year to help young people moving into Incheon ease their housing costs and settle in the local community.

In the first half, 125 people received support, and in the second half, the city will expand the number to 220 recipients by adding 165 regular participants and 55 reserve candidates.

Eligible applicants are unmarried youth household heads aged 18 to 39 (born between 1985 and 2007) who have no home ownership and have completed their address transfer from another city or province to Incheon on or after January 1, 2025.





Incheon City to hold “2025 Excellent Small Business Products Exhibition”


Incheon Metropolitan City will hold the “2025 Incheon Excellent Small Business Products Exhibition” from October 18 to 19, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., at Wolmi Culture Street, to celebrate “Small Business Owners’ Day,” recognizing small businesses as key supporters of the local economy.

The exhibition is organized by the Incheon Federation of Small Businessmen, with around 50 local small business companies participating to showcase a wide range of high-quality and creative products.

Visitors will be able to experience excellent local products firsthand and purchase them at special discounted prices, creating a venue for shared growth between citizens and small business owners.





Incheon Urban History Museum recruiting volunteer exhibition guides for 2026


The Incheon Urban History Museum, a branch of the Incheon Metropolitan City Museum, announced that it is recruiting new volunteer exhibition guides to expand citizen participation in museum activities and provide visitors with a high-quality exhibition environment.

This recruitment aims to increase understanding of Incheon’s history and culture and to provide citizens with various volunteer opportunities. Selected volunteers will assist in exhibition interpretation and help maintain order in the exhibition halls.

Any adult citizen interested in museum activities can apply, and final selection will be made after completing basic training and passing a demonstration evaluation.





Incheon City temporarily suspends recruitment for Cambodia medical volunteer group


Incheon City has announced the temporary suspension of its recruitment for the Cambodia dispatch youth medical volunteer group.

Last month, the city had planned to select about 20 university and graduate students residing in Incheon through the “2025 Incheon Youth Global Medical Volunteer Group” program to carry out oral hygiene education, assist in local medical services, and engage in school environment improvement activities in Cambodia.

However, since the government has issued a special travel advisory for Cambodia, urging citizens to cancel visits, a city official explained, “Given the unstable situation in the planned volunteer area, we decided to temporarily suspend recruitment to prioritize participants’ safety.”







Korea-China Governors Forum to be held in Seoul on Oct. 28–30 after seven years


The Governors Association of the Republic of Korea announced that it will co-host the 3rd Korea-China Governors Forum with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul from October 28 to 30.

Coinciding with the 2025 APEC Summit, this year’s forum will focus on “Joint Development and Practical Cooperation between Korean and Chinese Local Governments,” discussing collaboration in advanced industries and promoting cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries.

From Korea, Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong bok, who serves as the chair of the Governors Association, along with other provincial and metropolitan mayors, will attend. From China, Lin Songtian, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and local government representatives will participate.






Job fair to support small business owners in Incheon to be held on Oct. 15


A “Small Business Job Fair” will be held to provide stable employment connections for small business owners.

The Incheon Regional Office of SMEs and Startups and the Incheon branch of the Small Enterprise and Market Service announced that the event will take place on October 15 at the first-floor auditorium of the Incheon SME Office.

About 50 leading companies, including Coupang and Lotte GRS, will participate, with a total hiring scale of around 500 people.
