IFEZ Advisory Council Discusses Future Strategies for IFEZ


The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority announced that it held a general meeting of the IFEZ Advisory Council on the afternoon of October 15 at G-Tower in Songdo.

The IFEZ Advisory Council provides advice to the Mayor of Incheon Metropolitan City on various issues, including the vision and strategies of the Incheon Free Economic Zone, development, investment attraction, and the improvement of its business and residential environment.

The meeting began with an appointment ceremony for new members, followed by presentations and discussions on key topics such as the designation of a new IFEZ district in southern Ganghwa, the establishment of an incentive program for K-content production, and strategies for fostering AI-driven bio and content industries and creating an AI-specialized district.





Incheon’s Exports Reach Record High for September at USD 5.41 Billion


The Incheon Regional Customs Office announced that exports by Incheon-based companies reached USD 5.41 billion last month, marking the highest figure ever recorded for September.

By product category, exports increased by 45.8% for pharmaceuticals, 31.1% for machinery and precision instruments, 10.3% for steel products, 4.3% for passenger cars, and 1.8% for semiconductors.

Imports fell by 15.5% year-on-year to USD 4.58 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of USD 830 million for the month.




Korea Coast Guard Steps up Special Crackdown on Illegal Foreign Fishing Vessels


The Korea Coast Guard announced that it is conducting a special joint crackdown on illegal foreign fishing vessels across the West Sea, as Chinese boats resume operations and concerns rise over illegal fishing in Korean waters.

Considering that trawl net fishing boats — which account for more than half of the licensed Chinese vessels operating in Korea’s Exclusive Economic Zone—resume operations after the seasonal fishing ban on October 16, the Coast Guard will conduct intensive inspections from October 15 to 20.

The agency said about 800 Chinese vessels were recently spotted operating illegally in the Provisional Measures Zone, raising concerns about a surge in unauthorized fishing as the season reopens.





Incheon Signs Agreement to Support At-Risk Youth


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that nine youth counseling and welfare centers and eight youth support centers across the city signed an agreement with the Hope Stepping Stone Incheon Center on October 15.

The agreement aims to identify and support children and youth at risk early, promote their healthy growth and welfare, and strengthen cooperation for a comprehensive youth safety network.

Under the agreement, the parties will build a cooperative system for the early detection and prevention of youth crises and work together to provide tailored services such as psychological counseling, career guidance, housing, and self-reliance support.





Incheon Promotes Global Vision at ‘Bio Plus-InterPhex Korea 2025’


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it is participating in Bio Plus-InterPhex Korea 2025, Asia’s largest bioindustry exhibition, held at COEX in Seoul from October 15 to 17.

The event serves as a global business hub, bringing together leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies, research institutions, and investors from around the world.

Through its participation, Incheon aims to strengthen its position as a leading bioindustry city and expand its global partnership network.





Incheon Holds Public Forum on the Incheon Museum of Art


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will host a citizen-participation public forum on October 30 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cheonghak Art Hall of Cheonghak Culture Center as part of the pre-opening project for the Incheon Museum of Art.

The forum will serve as a major platform for public discussion on the museum’s vision and identity ahead of its opening in 2028.

This year’s theme, “Open City, Incheon – Open Space, Museum,” will bring together citizens, local art communities, and cultural experts to discuss the spatial and ecological landscape of the museum.
