Incheon launches 2025 Innovation Week to drive its transformation into a world-class city


Incheon Metropolitan City announced it will host 2025 Incheon Innovation Week from October 21 to 24, aiming to spread the achievements of innovation government and strengthen public sector innovation capacity.

Under the theme “Incheon, leading innovation as a world-class city,” the city will share major innovations it has pursued, and it will promote an innovation culture through diverse programs such as innovation education and artificial intelligence competitions.

During the week, a “2025 Incheon City Innovation Exhibition” will take place in the central hall of City Hall.

In the Citizen Happiness Zone, six i+ Dream projects and the Incheon i Bada Pass will be presented as AI-generated exhibits under the “i policies” label, enabling citizens to understand policies at a glance.






Incheon wraps up 2025 International Environmental Technology Confex


The 2025 Incheon International Environmental Technology Confex concluded successfully from the 15th to the 16th at Songdo Convensia, with participation from domestic and international institutions, enterprises, and universities.

Now in its fourth edition, the conference was held under the theme “Strengthening global technology commercialization competitiveness for a sustainable future society,” with the goal of promoting excellent technologies and products from small and medium enterprises domestically and abroad, and strengthening global market entry and cooperation networks.

At the opening ceremony on the 15th, Incheon joined with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Korea Innovation Foundation, Incheon National University, and other bodies to sign memorandums of understanding (MOUs) aimed at promoting sustainable industrial and environmental development and enhancing global collaboration.

Through these agreements, Incheon aims to establish a cooperative framework for sustainable industry and environment, as a result positioning itself as an innovation hub city for green climate industries and a center for global market entry.





Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra graces autumn night with Ravel and Rachmaninoff


The Incheon Symphony Orchestra will present its 437th regular concert titled “IPO Plays Ravel” at Art Center Incheon Concert Hall on October 31 at 7:30 p.m.

This performance focuses on the works of Maurice Ravel, whose 150th birthday is being commemorated this year.

Masterpieces by Ravel, known as “the magician of orchestration,” will merge with the romantic melodies of Rachmaninoff to adorn a deep autumn evening.

Conductor and Artistic Director Choi Soo-yeol, who has previously conducted the full orchestral repertoire of Ravel, plans to deliver a deeply meaningful interpretation that highlights the significance of Ravel’s 150th anniversary.





Incheon hosts K-choral trend with national children’s choir festival


The 31st National Municipal Children’s Choir Festival will be held from the 24th to the 25th at Incheon Culture & Arts Center Grand Theater.

As the festival marks the reopening of the renovated Incheon Culture & Arts Center, the decision to host it here carries deeper significance this year.

Around 1,300 members from municipal children’s and youth choirs across the country will participate, and the host choir, Incheon Municipal Children’s Choir, will take the stage over both days as twenty groups perform.

The finale will feature a combined chorus performance by all participating choirs titled “We Are K-Singing Star.”





Incheon Boosts Students’ Respect for Life Through Wildlife Education


The Incheon Institute of Health and Environment announced that its Wildlife Rescue and Management Center is running an ecological education program for students to promote awareness of wildlife and respect for life.

The program aims to help students better understand the value of nature and biodiversity through hands-on learning experiences.

Elementary students learn about Incheon’s native wildlife and basic care activities such as feeding, while middle and high school students observe the treatment and rehabilitation of injured animals and participate in related management programs.




Ongjin-gun Calls for Bridge Name Reflecting Island Identity


Ongjin-gun announced that it will collect opinions from residents of Bukdo-myeon on the name of the Yeongjong–Sindo Peace Road, a bridge scheduled to open in 2026.

The bridge will connect Yeongjong Island in Jung-gu with Sindo in Ongjin-gun’s Bukdo-myeon. It spans 3.2 kilometers and will have two lanes in each direction.

The final name will be determined through deliberations by the naming committees of Ongjin-gun and Jung-gu, followed by approval from the Incheon Metropolitan City Naming Committee.
