Delegates from 21 APEC member economies are gathering in Incheon from October 20 to 23.The meeting is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Finance with support from Incheon City.Finance Ministers and Ministers Responsible for Structural Reform, along with representatives from the IMF, OECD, and World Bank, will attend.Over four days, participants will discuss regional finance, innovation, and structural reform. The “Incheon Plan” will also be adopted, outlining APEC’s economic policy for the next five years.

On October 16, Incheon City met with local incineration companies to discuss stable municipal waste management. The discussion focused on processing capacity, facility maintenance, and recycling strategies.The city plans to use these insights to optimize operations and secure waste processing capacity before the ban takes effect.





Incheon Airport Maglev Resumes Service After Three Years


The Incheon Airport maglev train resumed operation today, October 17, after a suspension since July 2022.

Since opening in 2016, the line runs six stations over 6.1 kilometers. 

Passenger numbers dropped sharply during the pandemic, prompting authorities to reclassify it as a rail system, ensuring its continued operation.The airport plans to adjust train schedules flexibly, based on demand.






Memories Return at the 2025 Dongincheon Romance Festival


Incheon City will hold the 2025 Dongincheon Romance Festival from October 18 to 19 at Dongincheon Station’s North Plaza.Now in its eighth year, the festival features performances and interactive programs celebrating the local culture.Highlights include the citizen talent showcase, the “Romance Passion Concert,” a neighborhood sports event, and a family-friendly screening of “The Wizard of Oz.”






Incheon Aims for ISO 45001 Certification to Prevent Serious Civic Accidents


Incheon City plans to secure ISO 45001 certification by December for facilities at risk of major accidents affecting citizens.

This international standard, set by International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ensures systematic management of safety and health.

Through the certification, the city seeks to manage risk factors efficiently, strengthen compliance with safety regulations, and enhance safety awareness across all departments.





Incheon Tourism SNS Wins Top Public Sector Award at 2025 Korea SNS Awards Again 


Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Corporation won the Grand Prize in the public sector at the 2025 Korea SNS Awards for the second consecutive year.

To showcase Incheon’s charm, the city uses platform-specific content strategies. YouTube features celebrity collaborations and vlog-style travel content, while blogs offer story-driven guides and seasonal recommendations.






Incheon’s First Municipal Dementia Care Home Under Construction, Opening Next Year 


Incheon is building its first municipal dementia care home in Gyeyang-gu, scheduled to open next year.

The facility will accommodate 96 residents with trained professionals and offer customized care programs tailored to residents’ needs.

Once open, it will collaborate with local dementia centers and the municipal dementia hospitals to provide an integrated public care system.





Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation Launches 2025 Dream Park Chrysanthemum Festival


The Sudokwon Landfill Site Management Corporation (SLC) will host the 2025 Dream Park Chrysanthemum Festival from October 23 to November 5 at Dream Park Wildflower Garden in Seo-gu, Incheon.

Since 2004, the festival has transformed the landfill into a vibrant cultural space. Events include concerts, local performances, magic shows, and children’s programs.
