Incheon Holds ‘2025 Incheon Low-rise Residential Area Regeneration Project Performance Report Meeting’


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it would hold the “2025 Incheon Low-rise Residential Area Regeneration Project Performance Report Meeting” today (Nov. 4) at the City Hall Main Conference Room.

This event is designed to share the achievements of the regeneration projects with citizens and to discuss the future operation of community facilities and ways to strengthen the implementation of the “Happy Village Improvement Project.”

During the meeting, three excellent examples of low-rise housing regeneration projects will be presented, and the current progress of 30 selected Happy Village Improvement Project sites will also be exhibited.

 





Incheon Receives Presidential Citation on the 4th Hydrogen Day


Incheon City received the Presidential Citation yesterday (Nov. 3) at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul in recognition of its contribution to promoting the hydrogen economy and industrial development in Korea.

This ceremony was held to mark the 4th Hydrogen Day, hosted by the Ministry of Climate and Energy Environment and organized by the Korea Hydrogen Association and the National Assembly Hydrogen Economy Forum. It recognized those who contributed to realizing carbon neutrality and developing the hydrogen industry as a driver of sustainable growth.

Incheon was recognized for having the largest number of registered hydrogen commercial vehicles nationwide—406 hydrogen buses and 12 hydrogen trucks—along with operating the most hydrogen charging stations (14) among metropolitan cities, and completing the world’s largest liquefied hydrogen plant and two small-scale production bases.





Incheon’s 3rd Link Bridge Observatory Certified as the World’s Highest


The observatory of the 3rd Incheon Bridge, which connects Cheongna International City and Yeongjong-do, has been certified as the highest offshore bridge observatory in the world.

Incheon City announced that the World Record Committee (WRC) in the United States recently certified the 3rd Incheon Bridge observatory as the ‘World’s Highest Offshore Bridge Observatory.‘

According to the committee’s investigation, the observatory stands at an elevation of 184.2 meters above sea level, officially confirming it as the highest among offshore bridge observatories worldwide.






‘2025 Incheon Local Festa’ to Be Held on November 8–9


Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization will hold the “2025 Incheon Local Festa (4th Jemulpo Wave Market)” at the Sangsang Platform on November 8–9.

This year’s event will feature about 70 local brands from across the country—including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gangwon, Yeongnam, Honam, and Jeju—presenting local beers, desserts, crafts, and goods. It is designed not just as a market but as a “local exchange space” where creators share their stories and creativity.

An Incheon Tourism Organization official said, “The Incheon Local Festa is a festival where local brands nationwide come together to create new culture. We hope it will be an opportunity for citizens to rediscover the charm of local culture.”






Incheon Seo-gu Selects 98 ‘Open Childcare Centers’ for Safe and Transparent Childcare


Incheon Seo-gu announced that it has selected a total of 98 “Open Childcare Centers” this year, recognizing efforts to create transparent and safe childcare environments.

The district conducted on-site inspections for all centers that applied and assigned scores fairly based on detailed selection criteria.

Newly selected centers will hold the designation for one year starting in November, and reselected centers for three years. During this period, they will receive administrative incentives such as priority support for assistant teachers and substitute cooks, priority allocation of teaching materials, and additional points when applying for designations such as “Public-Type” or “Incheon-Type” childcare centers.





Bupyeong-gu Urges Residents to Apply for Eco-Friendly Boiler Installation Before the Year Ends


Incheon Bupyeong-gu urged eligible residents to apply quickly for the low-NOx eco-friendly boiler installation and replacement support project, which will end this year.

Eligible applicants include basic livelihood recipients, lower-income households, single-parent families, multi-child families (with two or more children) whose income is below 100% of the median income based on health insurance payments, and welfare facilities for children, the elderly, or persons with disabilities under the Social Welfare Services Act.

Households that replace a home boiler older than three years with an eco-friendly model certified with an environmental label within this year can apply. Currently, 86 units remain available for support.




 


Namdong-gu Conducts Pollution Response Drill for Water Quality Accidents


Incheon Namdong-gu conducted its own pollution response drill at Jangsu Stream in Mansu-dong to strengthen its ability to respond to water pollution incidents.

The drill simulated a situation where oil leaked into the stream due to a tanker truck overturning accident.

Through aerial monitoring of the mid- and downstream areas of Jangsu Stream, the district further strengthened its response capability to water pollution accidents.






Michuhol-gu Facilities Management Corporation Joins Free Toy Repair Project


The Incheon Michuhol-gu Facilities Management Corporation announced that it would participate in the “Free Toy Collection and Repair Project” organized by the district’s Resource Circulation Division.

This project repairs toys collected from residents and provides them to children from low-income families while also creating jobs for elderly workers who repair the toys—making it an environmentally friendly social contribution initiative.

Toy collection boxes have been installed at 21 administrative welfare centers and 14 daycare centers across the district. The corporation will be responsible for collecting and transporting toys from the welfare centers.
