Incheon City to Conduct Crackdown on Illegal Distribution of the Eum Card
Incheon City announced today that it will conduct an intensive crackdown on illegal distribution practices involving the local currency, the Eum Card, from November 24 to December 12.
The crackdown will target 146,885 Eum Card member stores across the city as of the end of last month.
The main violations include false transactions where the Eum Card is swiped without an actual sale and cash is returned, use of the card in restricted business types, refusal to accept Eum Card payments, and discriminatory treatment against Eum Card users.
Nine Accommodation Investments in Incheon After “Investment Immigration Program” Extended for Three Years
Cases of investment in accommodation facilities have emerged after the Investment Immigration Program—granting residence visas to foreigners investing in real estate in the Incheon Free Economic Zone—was extended.
According to the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority, there have been nine cases in Incheon since April 2023, when the program was extended for three more years.
Foreign investors, under the program, invested in residential-style accommodation facilities within the Incheon Free Economic Zone (Songdo, Yeongjong, Cheongna) and received residence visas (F-2).
Incheon Office of Education Launches “I-Plato” to Support At-Risk Students Through Walking and Reflection
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it has launched the “I-Plato School” program for students struggling with school violence, emotional issues, or academic difficulties.
I-Plato is an educational program in which students who have experienced various crises—such as school violence, child abuse, emotional instability, and school dropout—walk with professional counselors to reflect and heal through thinking and conversation.
During the first session held on Ganghwa Island from November 5 to 7, five middle school students at risk participated and walked 25 kilometers of trail over two nights and three days, sharing concerns and experiencing emotional healing with accompanying counselors.
Meeting Young Artists Who Will Shape the Future of Incheon
The Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture will operate the exhibition booths of the “Art·T Incheon” young visual artists during “Incheon Art Show 2025,” held for three days from November 21 (Fri) to 23 (Sun).
At the “Art·T Incheon” booth, visitors can see unique works by more than 50 young artists from Incheon all in one place.
This exhibition goes beyond simple viewing and also provides opportunities for actual art purchases. With prices ranging from 100,000 won to 1 million won, even first-time collectors can comfortably participate, making it meaningful as a place to encounter artists who may become future representatives of Incheon.
Traditional Liquor Experience Festival Opens at Gaehangjang
Incheon City and the Incheon Tourism Organization announced that they will host the hybrid cultural festival “2025 Sangsang Platform Sulsul Festa” from the 22nd to the 23rd at Sangsang Platform, a cultural complex in the Gaehangjang area.
The event was planned to explore new possibilities for traditional liquor culture and to revitalize local breweries in Incheon.
A total of 32 breweries from across the country, including brands that grew in Incheon, will participate to offer a multi-layered experience of seeing, tasting, and learning about traditional liquor.
Ongjin-gun Wins First Prize in Club Competition
Incheon’s Ongjin-gun announced that it achieved outstanding results by winning the First Prize in the club competition and the Excellence Award in the sports competition at the 5th Incheon Resident Autonomy Unity Festival, hosted by Incheon City and organized by the Incheon Resident Autonomy Association.
This festival was held in two parts — the unity ceremony and the club competition — with around 4,600 participants from resident autonomy councils of the city’s 10 counties and districts, becoming a venue for exchange and solidarity.
Ongjin-gun earned high praise from the judges for its solid skills and high-quality performance, winning the grand prize in the resident autonomy competition and enhancing the county’s reputation.
Incheon Bupyeong-gu Conducts 2025 Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery Census
Incheon’s Bupyeong-gu announced that it will conduct the “2025 Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery Census” from the 20th to December 22 to serve as foundational data for future local policies and support projects.
The census targets farming, forestry, and fishery households in Bupyeong-gu as of December 1, 2025, and participation will be available remotely from the 20th to the 30th.
For households unable to respond remotely, surveyors will visit from December 1 to 22 and conduct face-to-face surveys using handheld computers.
Incheon Yeonsu-gu Restricts Installation Period for Rally Banners
Incheon’s Yeonsu-gu announced that it will enforce a revised ordinance limiting the installation period of rally banners to prevent indiscriminate posting.
The revised ordinance allows banners for rallies or events to be installed only during the actual period of the rally or event.
Violations will result in fines ranging from 80,000 won to 800,000 won depending on the banner size.
